Having some knowledge of fishing I bought this game to see how realistic a simulation/strategy game of its kind could be. The graphics are good with a choice of three basic lakes and one 'private' lake (which you improve as you earn more points). There is also a well explained tutorial mode, that shows the wide variety of lures on offer and where/how to use them. The disappointing aspects are the lack of variation in fish and the fact that catching them seems to be too easy. I caught a whopper on my very first try!
The tournament mode does include different ways of winning (i.e. heaviest fish, longest fish, heaviest combined weight, longest combined, time trial), but once again, I seem to be thrashing the computer competitors every time. Due to this, perhaps it would be better to have a multiplayer option - which this game sadly lacks.
On the whole this game is ok if you're only looking for something relaxing and easy to play - there's not a lot of thinking to do. Value for money is very good. In my opinion though, I should've invested a few more of my hard earned pennies to buy a slightly more expensive game in the hope to find the factors missing in this one.
