More timing less puzzles September 30, 2008 Richard Jones (London, UK) I bought this game a while ago, and have not yet managed to finish it. It starts like a fairly normal puzzle game, which is pretty good, but as time goes on it becomes increasingly about speed and timing, which the name of the game pretty much hints at! By the end levels, you are trying to solve hard puzzles at high speed with no thinking time, which frustrates me, because I'm only really interested in the puzzle itself. Lots and lots of trial, error, restart cycles. There is also some irritating graphical issues, like the fact that sometimes the game arena is obscured by scenery, making it hard to see what you're doing. Also, on longer levels, it gets dark as time goes on, so that by the end you also can't see what you're doing. I'm sure that these were intended to enhance the game environment, but mostly all they do is get on my nerves. If I hadn't got totally addicted to it, I'd be giving it 2 stars, but I'm going to give it 3 for the staying power!
Not really a puzzler February 16, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I would guess the previous complimentary reviews were written soon after receiving Frantix, an update now would be interesting. After a few hours Frantix degenerates into a state where only one, virtually impossible 'puzzle' is available - this is not a puzzle, it is a speed test requiring you to collect 24 gems in less than 12 seconds. Then that's it - unless you can do this you'll get no more use out of Frantix. Don't expect any help from the publisher Ubisoft even if you have the week to spare that is required to read the Terms & Conditions that you have to agree to for registration at their web site - this entitles you to a completely useless standard response to your query. Alternatively you could listen to a useless recorded message for 1 per minute. The game had anyway degenerated before this into a state where there was no puzzle solving involved, you just had to try stupid tactics which if you were lucky with the timing would work, if not you would have no idea you were on the right track. Believe all the the bad reviews of this one on the internet! One star awarded as Amazon does not allow the zero stars it deserves.
Frantix PSP January 3, 2006 S. Ward (Spalding, Lincs United Kingdom) 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I love this game and now so does my son. Having bought him a PSP for Crimble I always like to buy a game that we can all have a go at and this certainly fits the bill. It's easy to master the controls and doesn't take a lot of working out. From 9 to 90 will enjoy this game - order it you won't be disappointed and especially not at this price.

What a brilliant game, what appears to be childs play actually turns out to be adults play.!!!Bought the game for my daughter for xmas and we are both hooked, what she tries and fails at i do my best to complete, have been FRANTICALLY trying to find hints and cheats for this but to no avail. Well worth the small amount that it costs, will keep you hooked for ages. jackie,xx
