Never mind the whingers, it's great! July 28, 2008 Captain Franko (Ireland) Terriffic item for winning over non-gamers to your purchase of the PS3. Far less fiddly than using the sixaxis, far more intuitive too. It may not work "straight out of the box", but the pairing process takes only a few seconds, and you only do it once! It may not control the TV volume, but most of us watch BluRay films in 5:1, so I need my cinema amp control anyway - no biggie, particularly if you are grown-up enough to get the volume right within 10 mins of starting the film. Best of all, unlike the sisaxis, it isn't switched on & off itself, it just works when you need it, every time. Buy it, love it.
Why no volume control?? July 16, 2008 M. Carter (England) 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this a couple of days after purchasing a PSP3. While it has some great functions and is very user-friendly, there is one MAJOR problem, you have to reach for the TV/DVD control to adjust the volume... Why? Surely the technology (seemingly very simple technology at that) is there to add a simple volume adjuster to this device?? For that reason I would only give this a modest 3 out of 5. Come on Sony, DO BETTER!!
Cannot fault it (apart from one) July 9, 2008 B. P. Gardiner A pleasantly robust, strong piece of kit which does everything you would want it to do well. My only (slight) annoyance is that it takes two AA batteries. Rechargable would have been nice but it does take a very long time to use them up. Also, I challenge anyone to a cage match on call of duty 4 using only the remote which has most of the sixaxis' abilities. My PSN is 'binty'

PS3 Sony Blu-ray Disc Remote Control May 13, 2008 Mr. Mark P. Williams (Hove, East Sussex) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
A Bluetooth remote control for the Sony PS3. Personally, I don't why there has been criticism of the remote being via Bluetooth and that it has to be paired with the console; the fact it doesn't need to be 'pointed' directly at the console means the PS3 can be hidden away and yet remain operable; plus it takes all of one minute to pair up the remote with the PS3. The remote itself is well built and has the requisite amount of buttons you'd find on most DVD remote controls, in my opinion it certainly doesn't have too many buttons; it also doubles up as an additional controller should the need arise. The only negative comment I'd make is that it doesn't have a one touch 'off' button to put the console into standby mode. Nonetheless, I recommend this as a worthwhile purchase for the PS3 and good value for money.
