This, I think, is the most original and influential video game of its genre. It has influenced many others and, still, when it's played, gives a creepy, jumpy and nervous atmosphere.
However, this Windows 95 version lacks graphics on everything, but the moving characters. Still, it is an outstanding game and is not overdone with enemies or bosses.
It has a great storyline riddled with puzzles and evil obstructions that make you play on, and on.
It is a classic that should be in everyones collection who enjoys the world of survival horror!

This is one of the greatest games of all time. It began the survival horror genre and forged the way for others such as dino crisis and parasite eve. However for the true experience you have to return to the roots. Resident evil is a masterpiece of gaming. It has the shocks and fear (as well as camera angles) of a classy horror movie and a great plot to boot. The voice acting is a little under par to say the least, however this just adds to the fun. Buy this game and you wont regret it. It will keep you up at night and suck you in to the horror. So turn off the lights, get a mate round for protection and crank up the volume because the mansion is waiting for you, don't dissapoint! - I hope this isn't Chris's blood!
