1 out of 5 stars Not worth the price   August 16, 2008

If you want this game, I suggest you pop to the local computer shop and get it second hand. Its a bit fun to play, but the controls are a nightmare, thats the main issue for me.

I don't recommended paying over 5 for this game to be honest.

Still, dosn't stop them movie been great...

3 out of 5 stars Entertaining with a few flaws   August 11, 2008

I'll admit - I loved the Wall-E film, and despite being a fairly hardcore gamer, actually really enjoyed the game as well. It definitely helps to have seen the film, because the game follows roughly the same storyline. The game itself looks good - the intro sequences and transitions are nicely done and the gameplay looks nice. It's very cutesy and it initially looks like there are quite a few controls to master, but well thought-out sessions at the start help you master the controls. It's definitely a game for kids, but one that the adults might enjoy as well.

The puzzles are puzzling without being too hard or unreasonable - occasionally they do get a bit repetitive, and you'll often have to gather blue 'energy charges' to open a certain door, but there are also enough racing levels and other levels to make things interesting. It's certainly not too hard, and with 27 different levels, it's long enough to keep you occupied for a while - it took me about a week to complete. Compare that to the three hours for Portal, and you're looking at a fairly decent proposition. It's also good, lighthearted fun - it doesn't drag things out, and I'd much rather play this than Hellgate: London or Need for Speed: Pro Street.

That said, it's not without it's flaws. The camera angles can occasionally be annoying - you'll find the camera swinging around of its own volition, and Wall-E doesn't always go the way you want him to go. By and large, he can turn on a dime, but very occasionally you'll get stuck or he won't move where you want him to. I couldn't find a way to skip the movie sequences, and the controls for the EVE levels aren't well thought out at all - you have to hold down 'G' to move her forward, whilst using WSAD to steer, but you don't seem to be able to rebind the keys in mid-game. It's slightly frustrating, but fortunately the game is easy enough to let you through.

Overall, a good game, and worth a look if it's on a cheap deal.

2 out of 5 stars Dated graphics.   July 19, 2008

The Main Issue for me is this game clearly a console to PC Port and a bad one at that, it looks dated like a very early ps2 game, I am suprised that games developers release PC games of this low quality nowdays. I found it Boring and repetative and graphically reminded me of games from about a decade ago.
