After getting this game about two-three days ago I've been playing it fairly intermittently and I think that's how its meant to be played. I agree with other reviews when they say it gets boring after a while, yeah thats when you stop playing. Go away and do something else then play it again a while later.
Its beautifully presented, the graphics are gorgeous. I love nothing more than mindlessly popping a few zombies heads of once in a while, the sounds are great though they do get a little annoying and it gets to the stage of "I've heard it all before" but thats when I turn my music up.
The gameplay is great, its definitely a much better game online, though you do need a fast connection otherwise lag is horrendous. The VS mode is awesome fun.
Overall, yeah good game!

Put simply, the best fun I've had in many years of PC gaming.
Absolute manic blood fest!
You play collaboratively with up to 3 other human players or 3 computer controlled players to defeat the zombies and other odd creatures as you proceed through each level. The levels can be quite intense and you really do need the help of your fellow players to win. The AI is very good and levels react differently each time they're played.
The best thing being a collaborative game against the computer is that your opponents are not people using cheat codes to gain an unfair advantage as is often the case in Call of Duty, Battlefield etc.

Bought this on Amazon last friday and it came 4 days later, i have to say Left 4 Dead is brilliant, graphics are spot on and the gameplay is good fun all round, played it online with a friend in co-op mode and it was superb, we both enjoyed it and will no doubt be playing it together again for while yet, i didn't give it the full 5 stars because theres a slight niggle with the Firewall interupting games saying the game is malicious software, even so you would just click allow as you know its not malicious but its still a little annoying.
Anyway if you want a good fun game to play online with some mates or even a good single player shooter then this game is bluddy good fun, get Left 4 Dead you know you want to!!!!!!!!!!

I bough this game and its the best game I ever have bought or played the graphics of the game is perfect and the best thing about it you don't need SUPER PC to play it , its brilliant to play this game with your friends and improve your teamwork and frienship.

Ok, to start with, I have not played this game. I have bought it from amazon but due to a major issue with the cd-key myself and many others cannot play it.
Checking through the forums it seems clear that retail versions of this game mainly from amazon are to be avoided, THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH AMAZON ITSELF.
The fault lies with steam, many product codes when entered display an error "duplicate cd-key" and says that the cd-key being entered has allready been, this is on a brand new game still in its wrapping at time of dilivery, and according to steam themselves the cd-key can not be randomly generated.
