| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Worms Blast is not a bad game. It's also not a very good game. What it is is possibly the most painfully average and obviously derivative game to be released all year. The regular Worms titles continue to be among the most popular party games around, but this is not a regular Worms title; this is a clone of Bust-A-Move (aka Puzzle Bobble) with the Worms license plastered unconvincingly atop of it. In Bust-A-Move you have to shoot different coloured bubbles up the screen so that they collide with the large collection of bubbles that are slowly descending towards you. If you connect bubbles of the same colour together then they disappear, and the idea is to clear the whole screen of the little multi-coloured spheres. Worms Blast is exactly the same except that you shoot different coloured bullets at coloured blocks. So, Worms Blast is pretty much identical--except that it's no fun. Having to move your character left and right across the screen is annoying and the controls, ridiculously simple as they are, still manage to be fiddly and counter-intuitive. Unless you have a thing for cartoon invertebrates there's not much point buying Worms Blast considering that Bust-A-Move is still available and cheaper, so try that out instead--it really is much better. --David Jenkins

i was given this as a present and i was thouroghly dissapointed it in essence is the most simple game to play but is infuriatingly stupid. Blasting blocks with a gun is not what i remembered worms as . your in a boat for goodness sake! it doesnt even have anything near the original game, go and buy worms:armageddon is what i say.... and stay well clear of this
Close...but no cigar February 17, 2003 Gary Hilton (Lancashire) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Worms Blast is essentially a hybrid of Bust-a-move and...errr...worms! It's the sort of game that's worthy of a place in your collection because it does have that 'pick-up-and-play' once in a while feel, but at the same time it clearly lacks that 'must have' quality. There is fun to be had here and you could do much worse, but generally there are far better games around.
THIS WILL BLAST YOU AWAY February 16, 2002 4 out of 16 found this review helpful
This game may not have super human graphics but they are definatly improved from the previous games. The gameplay is as always fantastic. That should be the factor of why you are buying this game. You can pick up any weapon from dynamite to homing missals to air stricks and kamakazi sheep. Lods of weapons with the ninja rope and blow touch and drill back in with extras.Hujndreds of newly designed levels this game will blow you away. The only bad thing is that you won't put this down. ...For hours and hours of fun. BUY IT .
