Good buy November 27, 2006 Brenda Cross 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
After reading the mixed reviews on this item i was reluctant to buy it, but i went ahead and got it anyway. What a great desision. I thought that it would be hard to set up but it is fine you just have to follow the step buy step guide and it does most of it for you. I have only played one game so far PES6 but i really enjoy playing other people instead of the computer when you know what they are going to do. If your having any doubts in buying this product you defiently should!!!
Once you get it going, you wont regret it. September 24, 2006 J. Menham (England) 14 out of 18 found this review helpful
i got the network adapet for the ps2 on the advice of a mate who said i was missing out on a lot. for those of you who didn't know, the network adapter allow you to play you favorite games over the internet with other players across the world. It simply fits onto the section on the back of your ps2 marked "expansion bay." The pakage comes with a the adapter, instructions, a network access disc and a built in online game called Hardware: Online Arena. The instructions make the installation look easy but trust me, only attempt this procedure if you REALLY have your heart set on playing online games. If and when you get it working, you will need to register with the central station via the network access disc. you will be required to create an online gaming name for yourself, your own uniqe password and choose your online settings. Once you have done this you are ready to go! Of couse the amount of enjoyment you get out of it thereafter strongly depends on what game you choose to play online. This unit costs around 20 but whatever you do... MAKE SURE IT COMES WITH A RECIET!!!!!!! Trust me, if you have a short temper, this is the last thing you need. ;-)

this piece of kit just gave me trouble installing and configuring. it is really laggy and im running 100mb/s broadband internet. the online game play is awful as communicating with your players is impossible. you cannot downlaod content and overall i would ditch sony, and join forces with microsoft's xbox (or xbox360 like i did) where it is actually worth buying. but, if you like to waste your money and time, then buy this... but best chances are... you will get a refund as this network adapter is stealing microsoft's idea and simply giving the whole idea a very bad name
awesome piece of hardware March 8, 2006 27 out of 32 found this review helpful
am tottaly delighted with this network card. i use tiscali broadband through an adsl router. i didn't need to register with the centre station as everybody said. here's what happened...i installed the hardware as illustrated and inserted the cd to set up the connection...i went through all the steps smoothly untill it came to the message "authenticating DNAS connection"..i kept waiting and waiting but nothing changed..i restarted my machine and went through the same steps again and still had the same issue at the same step. so i decided to try SPX to see if i'll be able to play online and guess what...AM ON...fantastic..i didn't need to go through all the registration process or any thing... will defintly recommend..
