the granddaddy of the PS3-and still one of my 5 favs! July 9, 2008 JamesW92 at the present moment, in my house, i have, a PS2, two 360's, and a ps3. If someone said to me, you can have my psone, i would take it! it has some of the best games ever!! for example, my personal favourite, hogs of war!!!!!! it was IMMENSE and i remember paying 25 for it!! i first got a psone when i was 8 or 9 yrs old, back in the 90's, possibly early 2000's, actually, mustve been 2001, cus it was the smaller version!, but i prefer this model easily! this sole is where everyones PS3 and PS2 gets their roots! it has one of the best game anthologys eve, second to the n64!! and for the asking proce of 10-15 quid, its great!! the first games i had were a Motorcross one, and HP philosiphers stone, which even today i think is the best HP game!! also, it had the 2d worms games, hogs of war, loads of other classics! if you are into retro gaming, get this!
Classic March 6, 2008 T. J. Maccourt 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i can remeber when my brother got a PS1 for his birthday. his first game was Crash Bandicoot 2 and i can remeber sitting and watching him play it as i was only around 4 or 5 years old. whenever i got a turn to play i would always get immersed in the game and start jumping whenever Crash did. Games don't make you do that anymore... people always seem to think that power is what makes a good console but its not. my favourite RPG of all time is FF7 which had characters whose bodies were differently sized cubes basiclly. free roaming RPGs like oblivion may look great but the character you create always lacks a personality and history. the PS1 is just a great console overall (it's outlasted my PS2 which broke). it has so many fun games like Crash Bandicoot, Medal of Honour, Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, and Metal Gear Solid that it's dated graphics and slow loading times don't matter. because your having too much fun to notice
Great and Fun September 14, 2007 N. Macdonald 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was the first console we bought and we still use it. You can have a lot of good fun with it. The graphics were good at the time and are still pretty good. The sound's were also great. The gameplay in some games were poor but in others good but not great. This console is great and fun.

Now this thing is cheaper than cheap. That's Cheap! This is a little gaming system, better for younger children nowdays, but still, a notvelty. This is the first ever PlayStation, and I loved it, true the graphics where often bad, but so what? This is heaven for younger children: easy gaming systems that are widly loved! I reccommend buying this along with Spiderman (PS1 version)

Ah, the ps1... makes me feel old writing this! (Though i did have a master system 2, so...)My ps1 is in the cupboard, feeling old and dusty. This was amazing at the time, and i still have 13 games with it, only thing is, it crashes alot, you would if you where 10 years old, and hadn't been used for 4 years! It isn't worth much now.. that may change in a few years...... though the box has gone missing, as happens with most consoles!
