International Cricket Captain September 12, 2001 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
International Cricket Captain: Ashes Edition 2001 is the latest and most up to date in the International Cricket Captain series. This successful series has released this version to coincide with this summer's Ashes contest between England and Australia. The game improves slightly on previous games but isn't substantially better than the previous games. The interface is extremely easy to use: I didn't bother with the manual I just got straight into playing (after having a quick peek at the controls). The game has all the players in the world's top teams from Nasser Hussian the England captain, to Adam Gilchrist, the talented Australia wicket keeper and batsmen. The graphics are slightly improved from the games predecessor, particularly in the teams kits. These are as everything in the game, right up to date. The weather plays a large part in the game as play must be stopped when it rains or goes too dark. This can mean that your test matches end in draws. This adds to the great realism of the game. The game is particularly strong in its bowling interface. You can choose from many different bowling styles. Off-spin is a bowling style that I find very effective. You can easily control the speed of the balls that you bowl as well. The computer AI is good although when playing computer opponents they do tend to be a bit more aggressive than you would expect in real life. I would recommend that anyone who has an interest in cricket should buy this game, although maybe not if they have another top cricket game. It is one of the best cricket games around currently.

I have givien this games 4 stares because, 1. you can choose amazing countrys. 2.It looks very good (but don't juge it by its cover.) 3. you cannot play the game. because all you do is watch a bad grafic math and place placers on and off the pich. but som people might find it interesting.
