Super or not as i would say! March 14, 2004 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
After getting home from the shops with a dance mat and a couple of games I was desperate to play. This first gamer i tried was superstar dance club! This was not just a mistake that i was trying to play it but a mistake that i had bought it. The game play is unrealistic and the conrtols are not clear. It has two bars that sometimes you are meant to repeat and other times you do once but when you play it this is not stated. All i can really recomend you do is buy a game such as dance UK or another komani game which are hours of fun and can actually be completed not just just made to confuse you and insult the genre of Dancing games. I have given this game a 1 star but i dont even think it diserves that. I hope this will help you choose the right game for you.
Gets An Extra Star For Barefaced Cheek! January 10, 2004 S. Smith (UK) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Welcome to quite possibly the mst disfuctional rhythm action game ever made. In poorly rendered japanese anime styled graphics (all 5 frames of it) there are around 6 songs you can "dance" to. Problem one, they last around a minute each thus killing any long term play. More serious, problem 2 - the buttons you press actually have no correllaton to the music. The X and O symbols come up in a set of 2 rows of 4 and you just press one upon each beat. Then to make matters more confusing sometimes the game wants you to repeat the same sequence say three times in a row and your already busy looking at the next sequence that's showing. Thats just poor game mechanics. The game can be finished within an hour, and the only reason it can get 2 stars in to watch someone attempt to play the game on a dance mat as it is impossible. Limited in every aspect, avoid this game at all costs.
Don't bother December 27, 2003 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Save your money and don't buy this game. How they can recommend age 3+ is a joke. Very dissapointing.

A little bit of advice before you read this review: if you're thinking of buying this game, don't. the first time i played this game i tried it on a dance mat. the idea of the game is to dance and your character moves up the dance career ladder to become a dance super star. up the top of the screen is two very small bars with the moves in like triangle cross circle square. this information moves very quickly(in time to the beat) and you don't get time to do the step. the song is boring and too fast. the dance is impossible on a dancemat and if you use a controller its almost impossible the best grade i got was a "D" and to pass the level you need an "A" which WOULD be impossible. so please don't make the same mistake i made by buying this game, get a decent game instead like dancing stage party edition.
Very difficult August 4, 2003 24 out of 26 found this review helpful
This is a very dissapointing buy. It is very hard to follow and very difficult to get any rhythm going at all. As you are using the symbols and not the arrows on the mat it is very confusing. This game will spend most of it's time in the box!
