What no Achievement Points October 3, 2007 Mark Beech (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) I initially downloaded Tiger Woods 07 on XBOX Live and really enjoyed the demo. Unfortunately I couldn't find this version in Malaysia, however I did manage to locate the 06 version and decided to buy. The big difference, in fact the only difference, that I noticed between the two versions is the graphics. Whilst the graphics on 06 are very good - on 07 they are simply stunning with a huge improvement in face detail. The game itself - I have really enjoyed playing. I notice that there have been complaints about the Power boost being on the left bumper button - I don't have a general problem with this and have got used to the swing with my left thumb and bashing the bumber with my index finger of my right hand. The only issue I have is due to the button configuration if you use power boost it is virtually impossible to use the right hand joystick to draw or fade the shot. It is like some bizzarre form of finger twister! For me the two drawbacks have been that I have yet to find anyone playing online (I have had the game a month). I do not know if this is because everyone has upgraded to the newer versions or there is a problem with the EA server. The other drawback is that despite having played this game for going on 30 hours I have not achieved any Achievement Points - I have completed most of the challenges - I have completed a round 4 under par. I have 8 holes in One, over 100 birdies - this is frustrating as it appears the level set to get Achievements has been set ridicuously high. Despite all the above comments - I do enjoy the game - and I suppose if you are looking for a golf experience i.e difficult, frustrating and requiring lots and lots of practice - this is the game for you.
Decent golf game in HD November 28, 2006 F. Graeff (Leighton B, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not much more needs to be said about the drawbacks of this version - fewer courses than the xbox version, fewer game modes. I'd like to say that the game is still a decent way to spend a few hours. The graphics look way better than the previous generation, there are regular tournaments on Xbox Live, and it has all the modes I would realistically expect from a golf game. The one gripe is the use of the Left Bumper for the power shot and spin button - this requires some finger acrobatics for a right handed person and can frustratingly interfere with the swing. All in all, worth a play, especially at the bargain prices this is now available at. For a full price game, go for the 07 version, which has more features and better controls and targetting.

I cannot believe that buying this game for the newer console has LESS features than the old XBox version. Absolutely unacceptable. The game itself is very good, my friend had it on the XBox and I loved it, which is why I bought it when I bought my XBox 360. How they sleep at night after cutting so much out of the 360 version is beyond me. :(
Not THAT Bad May 19, 2006 Mr. C. H. Taylor (DURHAM United Kingdom) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Other reviews saying this game is terrible and its not, granted if you have the other Tiger Woods games then this isnt that good, but if your new to Tiger like me and fancy a great golf game then you can do a lot worse than this. Graphics really good, Commentary is good and sometimes funny, yes less game modes than other versions but still enough to enjoy (that goes for courses too) Dont be so harsh, its an enjoyabe game when you get good at it. (other reviewers probably review it after 10 minutes of play, give it time it definetly grows on you)

Apart from the fact that the lack of courses and challenges makes you bored after only a short time, the placement of the power boost button in such an awkward place means it's almost impossible to generate any power unless you can turn the controller up towards you and bang it with your hand! The lack of items in the shop is very disappointing as are the graphics on some of the courses. You cannot see the hole at all on some greens making putting very difficult. All in all I could maybe have put up with the inferiority to previous Tiger Woods games if it were not for the ridiculous price. Don't buy this, you'll be very cheesed off, wait for the next one when hopefully they will have reintroduced all the features that made 2005 so enjoyable to play.
