Amazon.co.uk Review: In a nutshell: Tiger Woods returns and in better form than his recent Ryder Cup letdown, with a whole host of refinements and additions (and the odd subtraction) to the winning PGA Tour formula. The lowdown: The problem with updating a golf game every year is that, unlike most other sports, nothing much changes in terms of players or courses. Despite that, this update tries its best with new courses, new golfers, an expanded online mode and an even better create-a-golfer mode. The only downside to all this is that the main "Rivals" single player mode from last year's game has gone, replaced with the inferior "Team Tour" mode. It doesn't affect the selection of other modes though, including new options "Elimination" and "OneBall" and the four player "Bloodsome and Greensome". It may not reinvent the wheel but it does at least add some very welcome decoration to it - and thankfully not in the style of most golf clothing. Most exciting moment: The best bit about PGA Tour is still its simple and accessible controls. There are two main controls, the first uses the left analogue stick to swing and set the power and the right aims where you hit the ball. The alternative control places the hook and slice on the right stick, if that's how you prefer it. Since you ask: The Xbox 360 version of the game became infamous as the first game to allow you to unlock the extra features by paying money via micro-transactions on Xbox Live Marketplace. You can, however, still unlock them the honest way on all the different versions. The bottom line: A minor update to the world's favourite golf game. -HARRISON DENT

Challenging, frustrating, gripping. August 3, 2007 bish (Northampton) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It was no fun at all winning tournaments on ps2 versions of this game.winning events by more than 20 shots was no fun at all-you know you'd won halfway through the 3rd round-NO FUN AT ALL.This is different. This is tougher (and more rewarding).Tee and approach shots land in a circled area rather than pinpoint accuracy.Putting is more difficult but more rewarding when you sink a foot-long "bender".The pin positions are progressively more difficult with each round.Play the Tiger challenges first to build up your attributes and then take the Tour when you're more competitive.Lack of courses aside, great challenge, great game.
Better Luck Next time August 1, 2007 D. Callan (ireland) Lets face it if you want to be able to stand a chance of shooting an under-par round of golf then you'll have to do it on a computer. And if you want to do it on a computer you are pretty much stuck with the Tiger Woods series. I have played the Tiger Woods games for years and the 2007 lacks any real advancement from the others. Its basically same as... A few new courses a couple of new players and new attire. Thats basically it. There are other new features such as your shot history however this doesnt add much depth to the game. There's a new menu screen but u basically still have to complete the boring "Tiger Challenge" to get your character up to any decent standard. Overall the game is very average and the putting is so frustrating. My advice..... Wait for Tiger Woods 2008.

hi, i'm more of a shooting gamer really but this one stuck out after i downloaded the demo from live marketplace. i havn't experienced it all yet but plan too. once you get used to the controls you become addictive. i'm also impressed with the variety of game modes. overall a good game but not my favourite.
Good but not great!!! February 15, 2007 Christopher Maitland (West Sussex, England) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First off, I've played a PS2 version of 07 and a 360 version. The 360 version seems to have a more serious approach than the PS2/Xbox versions. I think EA went for the more simulation side of things for the second Next Gen version. Don't get me wrong it's a good game of Golf and currently your only option for a 360 golf game. But for me it lacks content, be it at the Pro-shop, the amount of courses, the amount of challenges etc. If you are a Golfer you'll notice the lack of Branding Licences, as it's always fun to have your golfer using the same brand equipment that you use for real. The fact that it still only has 12 courses with no downloadable ones and the fact that Current Gen consoles get 21 is also very disappointing. To start winning on the Tour you really need to of completed at least a year on the PGA Tour. With all PGA tour event consisting of 4 rounds by the time you get half way through Year 2 you do start to get sick of the sight of Pebble Beach, even if Graphical it looks amazing on the HD tv. As for the Challenges, the Tiger World Challenge is very lacking in content. The current Gen version of this, Team Challenge is although still not too great is alittle more challenging and does last alittle longer. I don't understand how a more advanced console can have such an inferior version of this game. Yes the graphics are great but the 'WOW' factor of this only lasts so long. I think EA need to use the same version for the Next Gen consoles as the PC one. If you get chance to look at the PC versions of Tiger, they are very rich in content and still have the great graphics and gameplay. Also EA really need to record some new commentary phases as it's all getting alittle tired. A good game but could be so much better. Roll on 08 version.

All that needs to be written about Tiger Woods 2007 is that it needs the courses from the previous games, more equipment and attire, and more opponents to battle. The idea to have customizable courses was good, but it would be better if players could actually get to place sand traps, trees or bodies of water where they wanted instead of just getting to increase the depth or color of things, like in Tenchu 2. Also nothing interesting occurs in the game. I actually used to enjoy making an eagle on a par five just to see the ball drop in the hole, go through the ground and hit the water underneath it. Bears should come out of the woods and chase people. Maybe a meteor could be seen flying through the sky. They must have fired the team that made the game cool. Tiger Woods 2003/2004 is the one to get.
