Classic Game June 15, 2008 Daniel Mclean Fisher (dundee) This Game is great. Having played both fifa 08 and pro evo 08 this is still up there. I do not agree that its just a money spinner it got some great features specific to the champions league including creation of a all time team. get it now
bugs August 4, 2007 MH (uk) too many bugs, credits keep disappearing for some reason, really annoying when your saving them up to buy a card. and like Z.Bounds said.. sometimes you just cannot get the ball off the other team! rubbish! maybe next year though it might be a lot better
EA Getting Better May 28, 2007 Scott A. Mckenzie (Selkirk) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this game, FIFA 07 was a real surprise, it was a lot better than I expected. I was a Pro Evo fan but was very dissapointed PES6. So I bought FIFA and really enjoyed it. I played the demo of UEFA CL 07 & thought it looked good and was intrigued by the new playing card system so thought I'd give it a go. I am so glad I did. I love it. The playing card system is really good and adds a whole different dimension to footy sims. The gameplay itself is very slick, production is as usual with EA titles excellent. I highly recommend this game & can't wait to see how FIFA 08 and PES7 compare. Until then back to my " Ultimate Team" !
Surprisingly good May 15, 2007 Dr. ID Keenan (Scotland, UK) Having got an Xbox360 for Christmas 2006, I have been looking for a good football game for it since and this is the closest I have found (and, dare I say, the most realistic). I had both Pro Evo and FIFA 07, which were both disappointing on 360, and this is by far the smoothest and most enjoyable game of the three. I am an ardent Pro Evo follower, but the 360 version wasn't as good as the PS2 version (which I already owned) and FIFA was frustrating and clunky. I have to admit that I was frustrated by this game to begin with, but after a few sessions of persevering I began to enjoy it a lot more. Playing on the World Class skill level makes the game a good challenge, the through passing and crosses are slick and scoring a goal is the major and rare event that it should be. Having said that, there are some gameplay issues that need to be addressed, such as even the most accurate of sliding tackles is likely to result in a foul and often a in a booking or sending off. I have also been suffering from a very sore trigger finger, because I have found that if you don't constantly sprint, you are not very successful. The formation editor is useful, but is not available in Ultimate Team mode. The game modes are interesting and make a refreshing change from the normal method of creating a team by buying players. The team chemistry factor and the panini style card game is surprisingly effective and addictive. I always feel like I want to be playing Pro Evo instead, but I will have to wait for October and hope for an improvement. If you are looking for a half-decent football game on 360 right now, get this.
Fustrating crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May 10, 2007 Z. Bounds 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I loved Fifa 07 but this game is just a sorry excuse from EA to squeeze more money out of gamers pockets. I cant believe some of the reviews stating that the game is more football like!!!!!! Obviously you have never played for real? Football is a fast paced, high tempo game with slick passing and 1,2's! This game is so slow and non reactive its unbelievable. Why in the last 2 incarnations of this game have they restricted the camera angles to 4 options? You can never see all of your available players!!! And whats with kicking low crosses in and virtually scoring everytime???? With Fifa 07 on the 360 (which played a lot different from all the other consoles) i thought they had taken a huge step in the right direction for the gameplay but in this version they have slowed everything down, passing, shooting, turning, tackling (players actually stand still after they poke a leg out!!!!) and the most annoying trait of the game is the ability for cpu teams to just simply dribble through your entire team evading tackles from about 6 players!!!!!!! how often do you see that at the weekend??
