I've been playing NBA live series since 2003 and I must say last year was rather dissapointing (NBA live 07) with very fast game play, players overlapping with each other and basically, it seemed like it's been recycled from NBA live 06.
However this year having played few games and tried out differnt game modes, it's been great fun and much improved from last year.
In terms of graphics, most players look very real and you can even see sweat running down. Also there's rearly a overlapp between players when they come to contact with each other.
The game play is slower compared to last year (in realistic way). Also during the game play, you can change tactics in more detail by changing defence and offensive tactics.
Also new feature of this NBA series, is the addition of FIBA international teams. For me, this not really a big feature otherthan the addition of few new international teams with FIBA tournament mode, but it's nice addition to have in the game.
Overall, it's very fun and great game. I can't really say how this game is like compared to NBA 2K8 because I haven't played on 2K8 but NBA live 08 is big improvement from last year and it's fun to play on.

A huge improvement over 07, great presentation, soundtrac, commentary, a few minor fauIts but 08 is a good if not superb game.
