Manufacturer's Description Step onto the pitch and play professional football your way in FIFA 09. Experience the most authentic football simulation EA Sports has delivered as you live the fantasy of playing as a professional player and customise the game to suit your style and ability. Powered by the third generation of the EA Sports football engine, FIFA 09 features more than 250 core gameplay additions and enhancements that deliver the most responsive, intelligent and realistic action ever for the series. Enjoy turning defenders with more controlled dribbling and ball control, snapping off precision shots with improved first-time shooting mechanics and firing beautifully timed passes with greater accuracy, placing the ball exactly where you want it. With new player momentum physics the speed and weight of the player determines everything from the distance of a slide tackle and the power of a header to the severity of player collisions and the height of a player's jump. Plus, players now behave according to their physical attributes with larger, stronger players dominating collisions, battles for control of the ball, and position in challenges for two player headers.

new fifa just a improved copy of pro 2008 October 10, 2008 jim bob fifa is forever playing catch up with pro evolutuion and with both of the games implementing a 'legend mode' it seems that there is getting to be less and less originallity between the two. my younger brother has the new fifa and i'm waiting for the new pro so i've played it. i see the five star reviews pointing its new features out things such as having to point the analogue it the direction u want the pass to go and bad reviews of it talking about being able to be pushed of the ball to easily and not being able to make long solo runs because of it. that's what makes it more realistic e.g a lightweight robinho bein knocked off the ball by a very physical vidic if he came to close, and these kinds of new features have already been implemented by pro 2008. i expect wen pro comes out it will be another step up in realism from a copycat fifa once again
EA Still don't know one of the fundamental concepts of League Football October 9, 2008 Stevie_2008 (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
FIFA games have been pretty good fun for the main part over the years they have been making them, and over the years they've improved and added many features that make the game more realistic and enjoyable, but there is still something even in 09 absolutely crucial missing from the realism, and I just cannot understand how EA still do not know this. And that thing is; playing away from home. In reality the task of an away match is so much harder. To reflect the home and away advantage/disadvantage; the difficulty should rise noticeably for an away game, but does it? No, it never has done in any FIFA game, they all play the same, EA just don't seem to have thought of this, perhaps they will add it in years to come and brag about it as if it's something ingenious. Another glaring mistake they have had in last years game that they still have is that floodlights which look like the whole stadium is being lit by a couple of stewards at each corner holding a torch. The floodlights should light up the whole of the pitch in intense brightness, last two years FIFA night games have been a joke because of this, again EA dont seem to know anything about football. FIFA 09? you can have fun with it, it plays a good game, but realistic? forget it.
FIFA 09 RULES October 9, 2008 Raffaele Bazzoni This is real football!! STOP!! PS: I used to play with my PS2 to PES. Now, with my XBOX 360 FIFA 09 is the best football game of all times!!
very good but still a little poor October 8, 2008 Robert Parry (Worksop, England) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Fifa 09 brings back the things people loved about the old fifas good graphics fast gameplay and good extra features but it still could be better like on manager mode when you choose your sponsors that sponsor should be a billboards at the stadium and i think that be a pro season could be better like you get to agrue with the managers desions but this game is still a must have football game but i think this year pes09 could come out on top.
