Brilliant to play, but worst version by far July 31, 2007 Mr. A. Sands (UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, 2 stars for the game? The problem with this is that it was rushed out for the xbox 360 for a simultaneous release with the PS2 version. As a result, it harnesses none of the 360's power, and is purely a PS2 port. Worse than this though, is the shoddy way the game has been converted. The only thing you can edit in the game is player's names, that's it! You can't edit anything else, and you can't even add yourself as a player! Also, you can't configure your favourite teams into your favourite formations/line-ups from the main menu, this has to be done EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to play a match. Online play/menus also look poorly done, although I must add that I have had no problems in actually playing it online. In terms of licensing, I'm not really bothered, and never have been about the lack of licensing on the pro evo series. The gameplay more than makes up for this, and as usual, it is ever present in this version. That is why I have given the game 5 stars for fun, because although this game is poorly made/rushed etc, the matches themselves are as fun as they always have been. If you're a pro evo fan, then I would recommend it if you can find a cheap copy somewhere and can put up with the fact that you can't edit anything.
Very disappointing - Someone should say sorry June 5, 2007 Heward Kay (Hampshire UK) 11 out of 19 found this review helpful
At last, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 has made it as a classics release. This is quite an achievement, considering it is a poor excuse for a football game, from a franchise which has been excellent up until now. This year, the Pro Evo People boast that you can play as Sweden and Argentina, as they add a couple more licenced teams to an already unimpressive roster. WOW. At this rate they will have complete licences by the time Pro Evo 17 comes out. Till then most of us will have to make do with Merseyside red, Hertfordshire Yellows, and Manchester Blue, as we try to play as our favourite Premiership Teams. The Pro Evo series has always been about the gameplay, and it is still a good kickabout, as well as a graphically competent one. However, the amount of content missing on this next gen version, is a complete joke. For example, there is no useful club editing facility, no way to save replays, no transfer facility outside the Master league and no way to create your own team colours. As for the online mode... When you consider the power of the 360, the Pro Evo people have a lot to apologise for, and there must be a lot of fans to apologise to, if the second hand shelves of my local games retailer is anything to go by. Hopefully Pro Evo 7 will be better. In an ideal world the Pro Evo franchise would allow disappointed fans to swap their copies of Pro Evo 6 for a free copy of the new instalment, but this is probably not going to happen. In short, don't buy this - It will not make your life better.
