Repetitive! June 22, 2008 Mrs. Dawnc Alexandre (Jersey (CI)) There are only two reasons why I got this game for the XBox 360, and it is not because of the Story Book or The Film. The reason why is because it was rumoured that this game is apparently the most easiest game among all XBox 360 Games to unlock all the achievements and the price which was not too shabby at about 6. In Eragon the game is in Third-Person Mode, the plot of the game is mostly based on the Eragon Film, which was released in late 2006, and the Eragon Book that was written by author Christopher Paolini. Eragon is a hack and slash game where you play the role as a young boy named Eragon, originally a farm boy, he soon discovers a mysterious blue egg while hunting for a deer to find that this blue egg contains mysterious powers. It was a Dragon Egg. When it hatched, the Dragon grew quickly and the bond between the two of them grew to create a friendship. The Dragon was called Saphira and her quest was to aid Eragon in difficult situations. You mostly take your adventures in this game by foot, but there are a couple of occasions where you will use Saphira and she is basically the same as if you were using Spyro The Dragon. The graphics are not to bad, but the game play is very repetitive and boring. Your mostly relying on the A and the B Buttons to perform simple and easy attacks. Boredom can also come into the game when you are in long levels and defeating bosses as the bosses health won't cut down for a long while. It can sometimes take 10-30 minutes to defeat Durza! It is rumoured that this game is apparently one of the easiest games when it comes to unlocking all of the achievements. The rumour is slightly true, the achievements are easy to unlock as all of them (except for 1), are mostly unlocked by completing each and every single level on Normal and Hard Difficulty, but finishing the level can sometimes be a pickle depending on how good you are. The XBox 360 Version of the Eragon game has 37 Achievements, giving you a total of 1000 Gamerscore Points. No online play is required to get all the achievements, so you can get all the achievements online or offline. All 37 Achievements in this game though are "Secret" Achievements! My Personal Game Score: 5/10: Half & Half, Equal, There Are Goods & Bad Bits My Wish: For a start, bosses health to be more less as they can take ages too defeat and shorter levels as you cannot save during play in a level and some levels are boring to do. Final Comments: In the end if you are after a hack and slash game with easy achievements or you enjoyed watching the film and fancy fiddling around with the game then Eragon is a game for you. The achievements are really all that I wanted, apart from that; don't race for this game off the shelf! If you would like any advice or tips on how to get the 37th Secret Achievement or so, here's my Gamer-Tag... BulgyDragonZord Review By Captain Chris Kipper
worst game ever. January 25, 2008 UnitFoxhound 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
just had to write a review of this after buying it solely to blitz it for 1000 gamer points, ive only managed a few hundred and have given up, not because its hard, but because its unbearable, it wins the award for the worst collision detection i have ever encountered in a game. honestly, often your sword goes straight through an enemy without doing any damage, like its a hologram or something!, and 90% of the environment is off limits to the gamer, by means of invisible walls everywhere, awful.
I have to say that I quite enjoyed it! October 4, 2007 foxymoron (MORETON, WIRRAL United Kingdom) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having read some poor reviews of this game, I smiled a forced smile when I received it as a present; and I really wasn't expecting much. However, I have to say that I really enjoyed playing it. Admittedly it is quite a short game; especially when you consider that my last two games were 'Oblivion' and 'Perfect Dark Zero', but it has some nice touches and a couple of challenging battles. On the down side, I didn't like some of the camera angles, which meant that you sometimes couldn't see what was ahead of you; and I didn't like the way that some of the battles seemed to end prematurely. On the plus side I had fun playing it.
Review of the Demo November 3, 2006 E. Oguzturun (London) 25 out of 46 found this review helpful
I first found out about Eragon through a gaming magazine, I then decided to read the book...which was amazing! Okay so now I'm a big fan of the books but that doesn't mean that I'm going to love the film or game. I was actually dreading the unexpected adaptations of the book. Anyways last night I downloaded the demo off XboxLive Marketplace and was pleasantly surprised. The first thing that i noticed was that the graphics are...let's say 'interesting'. Some parts looked very real and some parts looked like a cartoon. The thing that worried me the most about the game was that the gameplay would be terrible but again it wasn't too bad. Neither was the controls. You can access magic, bow & arrows and your sword with only 3 buttons...which was excellent for the lenghty battles. The game wasn't too fun, which was dissapointing but perhaps after watching the film it will excite people more...i guess that's the point in these licensed games. Yea so basically I just wanted to say that the game is looking promising...but then again I am a big Eragon fan....
