3 out of 5 stars Bit of a let down   July 11, 2008
Mr. Richard I. Calvert (London, England)
I read the reviews on Amazon and was very excited, but the game is pretty annoying. Maybe I don't get it, but I seem to have to start at the beginning every time I die? How does that make sense? In the "Back up for Brad" mission there is a guy hiding in some signage that you have to literally shoot 150 or 200 times, and it's really incredibly tedious. What is going on? I'd rather just wander round and bash zombies - slashing them with a Katana was hilarious, but after a while I was starting to feel like there should be more too it, it was impossible to rescue anyone (eg a girl attacked by 3 hoodlums on a humvee mounting a machine gun, surrounded by zombies, and you have to rescue her in 30 seconds using a shovel or whatever) and you should be able to save your progrees through a mission!
I'll be going to bash some zombies again though, and to see if there really is any point to this game besides the occasional chuckle. Exploring was also fun, but the missions seem to be pretty tedious and unrewarding.
I didn't get GTA either by the way, but My favourite game is probably Mercenaries, so I'm not anti the "open-ended" concept.

Dead rising is a very good game and is a lot of fun to play but afder few hours or days it will get very dull.I would rent this and buy call of duty 4

4 out of 5 stars If You Like Killing Zombies This Is The Game For You   March 22, 2008

This is my son's game. It has a very straight forward game play, basically rescue the survivors and kill the zombies that get in your way. It is quite blood thirsty (so not a game I would play) but my son thinks it is really good.

3 out of 5 stars Dead Fun   March 14, 2008
Timz0RRRrrrrr (Ye Olde Englande)
This game is great. It's not going to wrap you up in the story, you're not going to relate to the characters and you're not going to be left breathless from beautiful cinematics.

but you will have fun. I find this game utterly theraputic, it's the kind of game you can play for hours consistantly without any major peaks or troughs in content. Laying into masses of zombies is a lot of fun.

I feel the title is let down by the missions... they're a lot of fun, some are moderately challenging but both myself and a friend missed a detail... we're not sure if it was mentioned in any cutscenes but a certain objective wasn't displayed in the objective list.. and subsequently we got a poor ending having played the game's missions for 2 straight days. We didn't get the unlocks we yearned for.

This left us feeling a bit short changed and empty... like we'd never forgive capcom ever again (god Street Fighter 4 better be good...)

Buuut don't let it bother you.
This game is fun and relaxing without you having to stress out to much. It's the video game equivalent of Friends... you can sit and watch for however long you like... having a moderate amount of fun without having to get too invested in it.

5 out of 5 stars Shopping is no longer just for girls!   February 26, 2008

Picture this: 1 mall, 1 hard as nails photographer and a boat load of zombies! deadrising is undoubtabally the funnest game xbox has to offer. From the powerful (excavator) to the hilarious (king salmon) the mall is full of every weapon imaginable! My favourite is the showerhead, stick it in a zombies head and blood will rain out until the zombie dies. This game IS the poster child of xbox.
Now ive people say that the save system is annoying, but come on people! The game saves at the start of each case and there are toilets in which you can save everywhere! But bewarned, the writing in this game is very small (i bought a huge tv for the game alone) but who really reads the subtitles heh heh heh.
Did i mention that this game is huge? A massive mall, 3 huge modes, 58,000 zombies, and i think about 200 different weapons - and i dont know how many food items? the first mode is at least 6 hours, second is 2 hours and third is 14 hours. Yes people thats real time hours!
In sumation, BUY THIS GAME!!! i bought three! (1 broke, 1 got stolen and im playing the third in a minute). hope that this review helped, yup you guessed it - i was bored and had a two cents ta give. :)
