turn around now! June 18, 2008 C. A. Walker (llanidloes, wales) if i could i would i would have given this a zero!!! it is ablsolute rubbish!!!!
Terrible Game June 6, 2008 Mrs. Ellen Chapman I cannot stress how dreadful this game is. The reviewer who gave this five stars must be playing something completely different from the rest of us. The graphics are awful. The gameplay is shoddy. You have two characters to alternate between during the game, each with only one gun and a useless pistol. The guns are either the sniper rifle or the machine gun. The only variation are some useless mods that have little or no effect on the weapons. On the co-op mode it is a poor soul who is stuck with the sniper rifle (slow rate of fire, weak and innacurate). The promise of destructible scenery is quickly dashed as the breaking of walls etc is reduced to only certain zones being breakable i.e. shoot a bell tower and the same piece will come off every time. The dialogue is farcical and as for the story, its something about a stereotypical eastern european stealing chemical or nuclear weapons. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
Not worth buying April 5, 2008 Mr. S. Nutt (United kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is not worth buying, The graphics are nothing special gameplay is rather boring, there are 2 characters Graves and Lang each character has one gun each (and side arm) you can only upgrade the guns and theres no weapon pickups. online gameplay is very poor.
Conflict: Denied A Good Game March 15, 2008 Mr. J. Rawcliffe (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Not since i bought Two Worlds have i seen such a terrible and disappointing game. I believe that a one star rating is far too high for this game but i have no choice since its the lowest amazon goes. I remember the brilliant (for its time) conflict desert storm games which offered a really good co-op experience on the ps2. When i saw that a new game in the series had hit the xbox 360 i decided to give it go but i now wish i had not. Visually its a bigger mess than putting your hand in a blender and reminds me of a low rate playstation 2 game. Everything from the scenery to the guns and identical bad guys looks awful (except of course in the deceptive cut scenes). The controls are a worry, how any developer can mess it up this badly is appalling. Firing your gun at someone is about as slow as throwing the bullets at them yourself and as accurate. (With the exception of the heavy machine gun). If your on your own controlling the other character is a simple process of 'you go there and shoot'. With a story line as disposable as a babes nappy you sometimes wonder what on earth your actually doing. The two main characters are typical steryotypes and you wont be bothered if one gets shot down until you realise the burden of 'you need him alive to finish the mission' as apparently these two cant cut it alone the annoying voiced guy on the radio will remind you. So what on earth are they doing in black ops missions if they cant go solo? One guy is a sniper and the other a heavy machine gunner which makes them about as gooda choice for close combat as a jacket potato. You cant change weapon only add futile upgrades to the existing ones which offer little help in the long run. Don't even think about using the silenced pistol you cary around as its frustratingly slow and useless. The enemy appear to have come from the school of completely stupid film/game bad guys as they have bearably any registering intelligence except to waste all there ammo on full auto shooting you. I gave up on this game after about five minutes but played on anyway only to find that i really wasted my time and to confim my belief that the games of 2008 are very disappointing after last years line up. However i will give the developers one credit. They made a game worse than Two Worlds, now that is an achievement.
bring back the SAS (all 4 of them) March 13, 2008 Mr. S. Winfield (uk) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
does any else have the suspicion that they only renamed this as a Conflict title (it was called Crossfire during most of its development) because they realised how bad it was and knew it wouldn't sell without the previously well thought of franchise behind it. Bring back Bradley et al. I loved those guys!
