Amazon.co.uk Review New ideas often seem few and far between in shooters, but Facture goes out of its way to be different. Amongst all the usual guns, rocket launchers, and bombs your most basic weapon is the Entrencher, which is able to instantly create two foot deep craters in the ground or raise up the earth by the same amount. The earth will move while playing this game | There’s no such thing as a level playing field in Fracture | Big guns and short haircuts abound | The enemies are cyborgs with their own unique set of weapons | Naturally this comes in handy for getting around the game world--helping you reach inaccessible areas or tunnel under fences--and as a means to create cover for yourself or to take it away from your enemies. You even can throw special grenades that can cause the same effects at a distance. Key Features - World at your command: Raise or lower the ground to shield yourself from enemies, dislodge barrels and boulders, or uncover underground secrets.
- Explosive power: Special grenades can replicate the effects of the Entrencher tool, creating an instant vertical shaft of rock, or summon a mini tornado to sweep up the enemy.
- Tech war: Climb aboard a range of different vehicles and gun emplacements, and fight back against your enemies and their own unique biological weapons.
- Land shark: Special weapons include the torpedo launcher, which tunnels under the ground ,or the ice gun which turns enemiesinto ice cubes.
- Online deconstruction: Pit your skills against human opponents in massive 12-player online matches, where everyone can morph the map to suit their needs.
About the Developer: Day 1 Studios Founded in 2001, American developer Day 1 Studios’ first game was MechAssault--an early adopter of of Xbox Live online play. As well as working on the sequel, Day 1 also created the console versions of F.E.A.R. and all-new game Fracture for LucasArts.

bad bad game October 23, 2008 Mr. G. Forsbrook (under the sea) 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am surprised no one else has reviewed this game so I guess I better step in. This game had us all tingling with excitement when we first heard about it. I am not going to lie, it's a great idea and when they said they would have us altering water but they were afraid it would set the xbox on fire i was thinking this sounds like the best game ever the reality is very different playing this is possibly the least amount of fun i have ever had it a game (and I've played quake 4) the ground deformation is crap, the game play is dull and the weapons AI and melee are the worst i have seen in a game (and I've played quake 4) in conclusion: avoid it like the plague
