Product Description Colin McRae: DIRT is the most diverse and exhilarating off-road racing experience ever with sensational gravel, mud and dirt events the world over. Events include the series' intense point-to-point races and takes players further off-road than ever before. Race in challenging heavyweight 850bhp cars, drifting on the loose gravel and high-speed blind corners of Hill Climb events along perilous cliff edges. All 12.4 miles of the world famous Pikes Peak International is included, with over 150 precarious turns to negotiate through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. How about engaging in multiple car races with Dakar-style trucks and super-powered 4x4s on the toughest desert terrain in Rally Raid competitions? Then there are Rally Cross events, switching between dirt and road racing, where the competition is always tight, fast and collisions with your opponents are inevitable. Colin McRae: DIRT also offers a dedicated mode for European, International and Global rally championships featuring official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars. Colin McRae: DIRT delivers the wheel-screaming exhilaration of off-road racing with the next generation of the series' sublime car handling and physics system and a devastating new damage engine that ensures players experience every bump in the track, every loose rock, every inch of shifting dirt through the reactive environments. With an incredible range of off-road vehicles, thrill-packed tracks, modes that make the most of online multiplayer, and more varied events than any other single-championship rally game, Colin McRae is a bigger, faster, wilder racing experience.

An arcade rally game June 12, 2008 Bones (High Wycombe, UK.) I'm a little disappointed with Codemasters' decision to gradually dumb-down their once sim-orientated games. I understand they are in business and need maximise customers, but why can't we have sim options which can be turned on and off? If they're worried about marketing, they could bury these options in the manual - reviewers would still pick up on them. I remember the great TOCA on PS1, then gradually over the years the games have lost their sim edge. I also cannot stand the Americanism and constant guide voice from an American - this is nothing against America but it just seems so out of context. Graphics look very good in parts, especially cars, damage, and roadside scenery, but the framerate does suffer quite a bit. It will be interesting to see whether any developers manage to create something with the visuals of this or PGR4, but with 10 or so cars. Overall, don't let my review put you off if you'd like a friendly, fun rally game with nice physics. But for me personally, being able to bring a 140mph rally car to an abrupt halt with a simple stamp on the brakes is not quite what I'm after.
Great game, great graphics, very poor frame rate April 6, 2008 A. W. Lyndon (whitby, north yorks, United Kindom) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game has great, realistic graphics and over 100 hours of offline gameplay, the driving psychics make the game so fun but not really realistic but the graphics and gameplay more than make up for this Now to the frame rate, its fine when you're doing time trials it always will stay at about 25 or above but when you race against other cars and crash the frame rate will go into single figures and sometimes the game will jump from frame to frame like a pc game would running on a slow or old pc, the frame rate is the most dissapointing aspect of this game and thats why I have only gave it 4 stars overall but 5 stars for fun. Finally online, the online aspect of this game is very dissapointing you can only do races by yourself but then you're score gets put onto a leaderboard and thats about it for online overall I will give it 8/10
AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT. April 6, 2008 Jack 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an absolutely brilliant game to buy. Anyone who says it's rubbish is WRONG. Can get lots of Gamerscore for Xbox 360. This game is by far the best in the series. Offers a long career that will keep any gamer happy for a long time. Loads of Championships to do which increases the level of fun you can have.
disappointing February 26, 2008 T. Austin (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The last colin mcrae game i played was the first ever one on the playstation... and I would rather try and find my old playstation and colin mcrae game to play it! yes the graphics are good, but nothings better. and I wish they didn't have some yank telling you how to play, it should be the legend Nicky grist... rant over.
Great game. February 4, 2008 R. Waite (Warrington.,U.K.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great game but I would have liked it to have been a dedicated rally game. There are just not enough rally stages for my liking. I know the game is called dirt but rally raid, rally cross, corr buggy and truck racing could easily have been a separate game. There is no completely rally game on this console and it's time there was. Come on "Codies" it's time to stump up the goods. In the meantime i'll have to settle for Colin McRae's 4 & 5 and rallisport, original xbox games for my kicks. All three of these play on the 360. All in all DIRT is a great game and at the time of this review is the best in the genre. Sega Rally doesn't even come close.
