Stuntman Ignition is the follow-up to the renowned Stuntman game on PS2.
This game is about following the directors orders and creating the perfect stunts. Whilst it is also accompanied by a stunt creator option, where you can set up ramps and other objects (unlocked in the game) in an arena.
Whilst this game is fun, if a little frustrating, it falls short in many categories.
Graphics: Sub-par, barely scraping into the next-gen category, having said that, there is nothing wrong with the graphics, just nothing right: 6/10
Sound: The directors voice can get a bit annoying and the car and explosion sounds leave a little to be desired, overall fairly good: 7/10
Gameplay: This game has a steep learning curve, and if your a perfectionist you will love it. This is very different from most driving games, and it's nice to see an original game, but it is by no means perfect: 7/10
Lasting Appeal: As i said earlier, if your a perfectionist, this could keep you hooked for a long time, but lack of features and terrible graphics in the Arena mode give this game little lasting appeal.
Conclusion: If you can pick this up cheap, then it's worth a shot, definitely not a 40 purchase though!

I bought this game a week ago, and being an avid gamer I can easily say this is one of the best games I've played in a while.
The system of linking your stunts together by getting close to objects and doing the jumps and spins in between is marvellous. The game offers a variety of levels with different vehicles. The construct is also a brilliant feature just as they had in the first Stuntman.
The graphics are okay, it makes up for the gameplay. Explosions can be a bit naff and most objects are boxy looking but the gameplay is marvellous. The scoring system is amazing the only way to get a 5 Star ranking is to link all your stunts together without letting the points being added to your score until the end, and if your a perfectionist like me you will find this a lot of fun!
Overall this is a game you should buy if it's there and under 25 and definitly a game to go out of your way for to get.

Play as a stuntman doing great stunts for movies its amazing.
The Graphics are brilliant - I love the way the roads sparkles so realisticlly! I love the easy gameplay and the way the cars and motorbikes turn easily at the flick of a button!
Its a brilliant game, and I recommend it to anyone.

Ever since Project Gotham came out for the Xbox, i have been looking for another driving game to come and knock my socks off. PGR had everything, a good learning curve, replayability trying to ace every single race to get the cars you desired.
And on a whim i bought Stuntman II: Ignition.
This is the very first driving game which has left me in two states... one of being just really content to play oevr and over again in a fun loving way, and then the other state which is rip roaring aggression to master every single race.
At first i thought it was impossible to get over 2 stars on any race, however once I hit the odd jobs, i had a revelation, and i went straight back to the first levels... and 5 star after 5 star came (after playing and replaying and replaying the level!!) This is not a bad thing at all. It is about becoming the master stuntman and mastering every vehicle from monster trucks, to lorries carrying a scud missile to motorbikes. They all drive differently, and you have to adjust your play to crack them.
The stunts themselves are brilliantly thought out, from driving through a lava encircled town after a volcano eruption, to a Dukes of hazzard type movie... they are all brilliant fun. The only gripe i have about this (and it is a very small one) is the fact that in the action replays and trailers for the movies, you can actually see the ramps you jump over. It would have been far better to disguise them as in a proper movie... however you can not play this game and want to master it without noticing the imperfections of the game! ;)
As mentioned, the string system is basically that of Tony Hawkes (although i would put it more on the Kudos system of PGR) so every time you get close to an object, go through a time gate, get air, go on two wheels-(obviously this is for the cars, and wheelies for the bikes, hitting directors marks (doing specific stunts, such as 180 degree turns, getting close to cars, bumping cars, and cashing cars) you name it, and it is there!
The controls are very easy, you have accelerate, brake left and right, handbrake, and the all important action button. This sets your car on fire, slide your bike, triggers an explosion, or makes you shoot out of your car. It is of ocurse all done to the directors wishes.
The cut scenes (which are basically trailers for the movies you have just completed) are briliant. They are really cheesey, and WILL put a smile on your face, and are well worth doing the scenes just to see the trailers!
There are some beautiful graphics in this game, the sound is OK, nothing amazing, but the dialogue at the end of the stunt scenes reflect how you did, and can be very amusing too.
Briliant game, and if you like driving games that will test you, then go for this... oh, and don't bother with the easy mode, it is utterly pointless, as it is very easy to get one star so that you can progress.

As soon as I heard that this game was being made I was excited.
I loved the original on the PS2 (even if it was the hardest game in the world).
So 2 weeks ago I downloaded the demo on Xbox live and fell in love with it straight away and on Friday I picked a copy of it up. 4 hours later I was still playing it.
Its got a great learning curve, a top points system and a massive choice of vehicles. Even though you can complete a level on more or less your third turn at it, your pulled back for more trying to get a full 5 stars for each scene, by drifting every corner and trying to get closer and closer to every object to string your stunt bonus together. Thats where the real challenge lies, getting to the end of each scene with a perfectly stringed stunt bonus. If you like games that give value for money and lots of playability then this is a must by. But If you get easily fustrated, cant handle a good challenge or didnt like the original then id rent for a trial.
