Product Description
Kameo: Elements of Power, a larger-than life journey full of intense combat, magnificent exploration, and innovative morph-into-monster action.

Amazon.co.uk Preview
In a nutshell:
Playing as shape-shifter Kameo, your special skill is that once you’ve vanquished an enemy you can assume their form and use their special attacks at any time. This offers an ever-increasing arsenal of wittily designed beasts with which to complete your quest, as well as expanding varieties of combo to take on the tougher bosses.

The lowdown:
Expansive action adventure with a pleasantly Zelda-esque feel about it, which features the usual set of neat little touches from developer Rare, as well as their trademark easy-to-use control interface. Despite the gradually upgradeable complexities of your various shapes’ attack and defence mechanisms this promises to be a joy to control throughout.

Most exciting moment:
Switching forms in the heat of battle makes for some hilarious and very effective combinations of various creatures’ skills. They also look fabulous in a comedy-monster sort of way.

Since you ask:
Originally slated to appear on the venerable Nintendo 64, Kameo’s development allegedly shifted first to Game Cube, then to Xbox and is finally seeing the light of day on Xbox 360. The path to gaming love never did run smooth.

The bottom line:
Amongst Xbox 360’s raft of shooting and driving launch titles, this is a breath of sweet, fresh air.

3 out of 5 stars Great fun.   August 13, 2008

I thought this was a fun game - i like the whole collecting different creatures to help you in battle. The creatures are themselves quite funny - especially some of the facial expressions and sound effects. Ok it might not be the best game in the world but its a bit different and will keep you occupied. I thought the graphics were fine but i'm never that concerned about such things.

4 out of 5 stars its a good laugh   August 12, 2008

okay, picked this up today, played it. One thing ive noticed is that, its not really an rpg...its more of a puzzle solving platform game. Even so, its okay, except for the fact you dont get weapons, which sucks. it kinda reminds me of fable in a way. The gameplay is somewhat cute..the trolls arent really intimidating, the warriors are fluffy and cute.

graphics are ok, not great. sound and music is...meh.

imo, this game gets 6 or 7 out of 10.

5 out of 5 stars great game for RPG lovers   June 19, 2008

I am playing this for the second time. The soundtrack, storyline, character development and art direction are all amazing. It also takes a long time to finish it so it's good value for money.

The first thing i have to say is, THIS GAME IS NOT A NEXT GEN GAME, It is a flawed original Xbox game that has been in production since the dawn of the old console and anyone who dosn't belive me just needs to look on the back of an original Xbox Box and you will see screen shots for Kameo.

That said if your under 10 you may enjoy this game, it is pretty and easy to get to grips with.

If you are over 10 or have an IQ in double figures best to give it a miss.

If this had been released when it was first intended it may of been an ok game, now it seems a bit out of its league.

3 out of 5 stars KameOK   March 19, 2008

Kameo is an ok game, it isnt a bad game that's for sure. Anybody remember playing Donkey Kong64? the gameplay is remenisant of that (although not done half as well)

My main complaint with the game was the target audience... I think this game could be awesome and enjoyable to somebody who's 10 or 12,

but as a 17 year old I'd finished the game with a final time of just under 6 hours feeling pleasant and rested. It's an ok game, but the hardcore gamer wont get much out of this (besides 600 gamer points in about 6 hours)
