Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
It's the game football fans wait all year for and to usher in the next generation EA Sports have given FIFA its biggest revamp in years, changing not just the way it looks but the way it plays in what aims to be the ultimate marriage of realism and fun.

The lowdown:
Every new FIFA game gets its expected improvements in graphics and presentation but this year the success of Pro Evolution Soccer seems to have driven EA to concentrate just as much on the gameplay. As such the game features better passing, crossing and free kicks as well as greatly improved goalkeepers. There's also a new "finesse" shot if you get the time and space to use it, while every kick is calculated in terms of space, composure and technique so that it's accuracy is determined by exactly what's happening on the pitch and not just some random factor. Add in completely new ball physics, more than 510 teams, 27 leagues, 4,000 licensed players and all new international crowd reactions and you've got EA's most concerted attempt yet to make the definitive football game.

Most exciting moment:
As well as all the individual improvements to ball and player control many of the game's best strikers have their own signatures moves and free kicks, such as Ronaldinho, Frank Lampard and Roberto Carlos. This includes the ability to, quite literally, bend it like Beckham.

Since you ask:
As befits its global reach FIFA 07 has perhaps the most multinational soundtrack ever in video games, with everything from Argentinean rock band Bersuit Vergarabat to Spain's The Pinker Tones and German group d.o.c.h.! (As well as Britbands such as Muse and The Young Punx.)

The bottom line:
FIFA gets serious in its attempt to out-football Pro Evolution Soccer

4 out of 5 stars Great game   January 6, 2008

When your good at this game after practice you can put the difficulty all the way up and outplay the best teams in the world with incredibly fast paced football, although not like real football this is still incredibly fun in my opinion better than fifa 08 which is just like the premier league football we see on TV. The reason i prefer 07 is because i don't necesarily always want to play build up football i may be angry with a team and just want to tear them apart and score great goals past them, which is why i like this game. When i want realism then nothing can beat fifa 08 unless your a Pro evo fan because you will probably already have unjustified bad opinions of fifa.

4 out of 5 stars fifa 07 ACE   January 4, 2008
man u (southampton uk)
This game is excellent. It really shows you what real football is like. The last time i played fifa was when 05 was out and i thought it was rubbish. I tried this years game and it was fantastic. The ball control is brill and you can tell the difference between the top class teams and the lower league teams.

Scoring on this game is difficult and no 2 goals are the same. The challenge mode is brilliant but as you progress through it is very hard. The new fatigue idea is really good but the team management controls can be complicated. It took me 4 matches to win my first game but if you want my advice, either rent it first or when you first buy it read the manual thoroughly. It helped me a lot. Dont't bother with PES, buy this instead. Apart from the menus being quite complicated there is no fault with this game. The arena is a great idea because it helps you get to grips with the shooting technique.

This game almost has no fault.......BUY IT!

3 out of 5 stars Hmm...   July 20, 2007

When i first got the game I was head over heals for it, i really enjoyed the manager mode and the challenges. However, after a few days/weeks the game became extremely repetitive and far from enjoyable.

DON'T get me wrong, the online play is 10/10, very enjoyable and i still play that regularly but the rest of the game was a major let down for me.

So, if you don't plan on playing online, don't buy!

5 out of 5 stars Dont be fooled buy all the negative feed back   June 26, 2007

I have had this game sine November and I'm still playing it, how many people can say that about a game?

I cant believe that there is so many negative reveiws for this game as it is brilliant! I have played ALL of the FIFA games and most of the PES games (DONT BOTHER WITH PES!), and this has to be then best one. The graphics are better the game play is better you have more tricks and more control of the ball.

However there are a couple of things missing like, no hand ball rule, only the premirship is avalible in manager mode in England so after every season you start with the same teams, the manager mode is only 5 seasons long and the opposition still passes back to his own keeper!

Please dont let this put you off though as it really is the best football game in the world!!!

If in doubt then rent it first, you wont look back!

2 out of 5 stars Ps2 Better   June 22, 2007

I brought the xbox360 thinking the games would be better but when it comes to Fifa 07 it realy is a let down. I was a big fan of Manager mode on the Ps2 version & it is much better than the 360 version, most of the menus are not there, the replays when you score are not as good,it is done using points & not cash, the speed & passing of the ball are no where as good.If only i looked on this site & read the reviews i would have saved myself 30.
I have turned my Ps2 back on to play fifa07 much better.Dont buy it.
