Amazon.co.uk Review: In a nutshell: The latest retro movie license puts you in the ultra sweary shoes of Tony Montana as you fight to build back your drugs empire and help to rewrite the ending of the movie with the help of your little friend. The lowdown: It's hard not to think of Grand Theft Auto when you see this game, not least because Vice City ripped off most of the movie's soundtrack and key scenes. Although it features lots of automotive carnage and third person shooting, Scarface does try its best to offer some new features, as you buy fronts for your cocaine business, launder money and slowly raise your reputation with gangs across Miami. Where it falls down though is in the story missions, which require you to complete a lot of laborious sub quests and often include some fairly silly objectives. The otherwise authentic atmosphere is usually just enough to keep things ticking over though, particularly for movie fans. Most exciting moment: The best part of the game is definitely the combat and the one area where the game is definitely superior to Grand Theft Auto. Aiming is helped by a handy lock-on system and there's even a first-person rage mode for when Tony's maxes out his "balls" meter. Since you ask: Although Al Pacino's real face is used in the game, he hasn't recorded any new dialogue. However, the game does feature original cast members Steven Bauer and Robert Loggia, as well as celeb voiceovers from the likes of Ricky Gervais, James Woods and Cheech & Chong. The bottom line: No Grand Theft Auto beater but an interesting companion to the movie.- HARRISON DENT

One for your collection December 31, 2007 Jma Pinero-rey (Ely) I bought this game as I am quite a big fan of scarface and i must say I am not disappointed. The game progresses at a good pace and is extremely playable. The voice-over is excellent despite Al Pacino not able to do the Tony Montana accent. My only complaint about the game is that Elvie, his wife, does not make an appearance. Maybe I should not say this but at times, the cheats came in useful due to the amount of shooting there is. The last scene is particularly hard as you take on Sosa's Army. My only other regret is having sold the game.
Very good overall. July 3, 2007 Mr. S. F. H. Gilani (uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
SCARFACE THE WORLD IS YOURS is very entertaining. Addictive gameplay, great graphics, loads of vehicles to drive & it really has the flavour of the movie. Excellent !!!

For ages I wanted to play this game and I've opted for the Xbox version rathe than the PS2 (I have both) as through experience this is the type of game the Xbox loves - better re-fresh rate and much crisper, cleaner graphics. The story carries on from a 'What could of happened' point at the end of Scarface the film. ( I've heard some reviewers hate/low rating it because of this very reason. Why? its a game! who said they should follow a script? You (Tony Montana) start with nothing and have to work your way up through the under world to kill your No1 enemy - Sosa. In what plays very much like GTA, but then since GTA3 game out EVERY 3rd person walk around game gets compared to this and with its high bench mark on all aspects of that game its not really a fair comparison.) The graphics are clean and crisp as mentioned and the sound and interaction between NPC's and yourself is very good. The voice talents as well are very good.- You'll soon be swearing along with Tony M. The missons play very much like GTA, you need to go met suppliers or new fronts and work your cocaine through the system getting rep points and money for your troubles. There is a good amount of ground to cover as well so its not a small game play area. You rank up through rep points- This allows you to go for more harder missions and bigger cocaine supplies, but also gives you control of your exotic menu. This menu allows you to buy nice new shiny things for your mansion and upgrades your soliders. The 'Pimp your mansion' control is a real downside on this game as the things you buy you can place them where YOU want in your mansion. The controls on this are extremely nasty and its takes a good few tries on placing the item where you want and not half-way through a wall. Though the control system and targeting in actual game play is excellent - Far better than GTA. A quick easy targeting system allows you to quickly hit the people you want and with a cover action its stops you taking too much damage. Overal theres a good amount to do and play in this game, the missions getting to the top are a tiny bity samey and the pimp my mansion is awlful, Aside from that this is a good game that GTA fans will like. If your a fan of the film - RENT first as you many not like the overall story. A good amount of play time estimate 10-20% in about 8hrs means your looking roughly at a 40ish hr game.

Scarface - The World Is Yours is a great game and if you like the film or are a fan of the gangster genre then you will not be dissapointed. Most XBOX games along with with PS2 and all the others are ushally a giant rip off, but at around 30 this game is well worth it, as it will take you a long time to complete. The game starts off just before the end of the film and you as the iconic Tony Montana have a chance to save yourself and not die. From here you go on and rebuild your empire that is now run by various gangs that you will have to kill, eventually leading to a showdown with Alex Sosa. The main aim in the game is to buy fronts in different parts of miami and distribute the drugs you purhase through them. Also you have to kill all the gangs in miami and buy exotics (cars, boats, henchmen, drivers, investments etc)to up your reputation level which ultimately opens up new levels. There is explicit language in this game so if you are easily offended you might not get on with it but if you have a strong sense of humour then you will love it(the things Tony says are hillarious and timeless). What also impresses me about this game is the soundtrack which you can choose. Although i'm not a great lover of 80's music, the songs fit the game wonderfully and after playing it once or twice you find yourself singing along with them all. I really recommend this game. It is a must have!
