Green Fingers October 12, 2004 Mr. J. Bentley 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When looking for an additional pad to go with my XBox this controller certainly caught my eye. Not only does it look good, due to its semi-transparent green casing, but I also knew from using the black S Pad that I already owned that it's wonderful to use; so wonderful that I wasn't about to be swayed by the multitude of much cheaper, unlicenced alternatives on the market. It fits in your hand so well and is so much nicer to use than the Playstation controller, especially, if like me, you have large hands, and the layout of the controls is superb (just wait till you blow away a Covenant Elite in Halo using the right trigger), although if you're playing something that requires frequent use of the black and white buttons it can be a little tricky. This little beauty is definitely worth the price tag and, because of its robust build quality, should last you many a late night frag session.
Official Microsoft Clear Green S Pad August 3, 2004 Lawrence Millington (Chingford, London, Walthem Forest United Kingdom) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Whereas the original Xbox controller was big and clumsy (especially for girls and midgets), almost causing you to pause game play in order to find the required button. The new S pad fits well into the hand and has a much more accessible button layout. With the clear and black buttons being moved down under the ABXY buttons and the start and back button now placed to the left of the d pad much less finger movement is required. This may seem a bit pernikity, but in high paced games such as halo or unreal championship this can really help. Last but not least the green colour is real nice, although u can get it in black if u want it to match your black console (I'm lucky as I have the limited edition green console, sooo good). I highly recommend the S Controller as extras or if u can get them with your Xbox purchase, Halo rules!! Be cool, peace.
Jus' cos its green? February 3, 2004 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
The annoyingly frequent question asked by fans of other consoles(such as gamecube & PS2), who fail to see the beauty of green. Where PS2 has only tacky silver, or the black, a color that's starting to become a bit monotonous, and gamecube that unvibrant purple, Mr. Microsoft has given us the transparent green S control. This control combines the supreme comfort of the S control, with the stlylish green that reminds us so much of our Xbox. Green is the future and Bill's given us a sneak peek (what an awfully nice bloke). My only advice is that if you, like me can afford just one, put in in the Player 1 slot, and let no other grubby hands dirty its beutiful, smooth, transparent, GREEN surface! That right trigger is yours alone, and that left analog stick is your best freind. Treasure it, keep it, and please don't share it.
Great controller! January 20, 2004 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
like A GAMER FROM SUSSEX, I too have the advantage of owning a Limited Edition Translucent Green Xbox and it's good if you want extra controller for it. When the vibrators in the controller move, you can see them move too!
green stuff November 27, 2003 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
Although this IS exactly the same as the Official Xbox Controller S, it is great news for people who were lucky enough (like me) to get their hands on the limited edition see-through green Xbox (in my opinion a thing of beauty.....)which already came with two of these matching green pads. we can now have a complete set of four if we so desire, or replace ones that have gone missing.
