Cheap but nasty too! September 21, 2005 R. Cross (Brussels, Belgium) 25 out of 28 found this review helpful
The mat is cheap, really a kids toy. The dance game I bought to go with it on the XBOX platform is really best suited for teenagers through to adults. The mat was flimsy and after 2 days of very light use, one of the pads was broken. A week later, another one had gone (none of the users was over 11 stone, most were half that!). I replaced the mat with a much more heavy duty unit (metal frame) and our enjoyment of the dance game rocketed. I'd only recommend this pad if you were desperate or if you knew it would only be used by kinds and even then, I'd try to find something better.
Very inaccurate - very frustrating June 8, 2005 robaker 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have two of these dance mats. Neither were 100% accurate even when new and both have now degraded to the point of being infuriating to use because Dancing Stage Unleashed does not tolerate mistakes. While all the buttons work sometimes none of them work properly for very long before they start failing to register for some of the steps that are made.
Quality is flawed January 25, 2005 26 out of 27 found this review helpful
This is my first dance mat and at first it looked good and felt good (certainly better than my uncoordinated dancing!). I noticed that the mat did slide around a little bit on a carpeted floor and it was quite difficult to tell that you might have moved 'off centre' whilst playing, which is vital for getting good scores. You can't feel where the pressure sensitive parts of the mat are under your feet, even when not wearing shoes. The worst part is, after less than 3 hours of use, the rear pad stopped registering, and then another hour of use saw the left hand (foot!) pad stop working. In reality, I don't think this mat is durable enough to see you through the transition from Flapping Fool to Disco Diva. Let's see if we can arrange a return. I think I'll try and get something of higher quality because the dancing game is really cool!
