Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (GameCube)

The ability to jump off your board and run, jump and climb about has been added. If you jump off mid combo you have a short ammount of time to jump back on and do a trick or the combo ends. It doesn't really add as much to the game as manuals which was one of the big impovements between THPS 1 and THPS 2. The levels don't take advantage of it that well. The control and camera are not as good as when skating and it can be annoying for the goals that require you to walk and climb about.

The story mode is a nice addition as well. Mostly because it gets rid of the timer so you can mix exploring and skateing about with goal chaseing instead of switching between free skate and carrear mode.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the levels appart from skatopia. I much prefer the skate park based levels apposed to the city levels that are prevelent in this version.
Also the non skateboarder characters are a bit lame but you can moslty avoid using them.

I am a skater. I love the feeling of skating down a half-pipe and pulling of an amazing trick. I myself have just managed to do most flip tricks, which I am proud of. Anyway, back to THUG 2 this game looks very good. However, I think that activision have tried to make the game too good. You can get insane vehicles which kind of ruins the point of a good skating game. I think that the graphics r very good and a few vehicles and stuff is usually good but I think that this is going a bit too far. I also think that activision have kind of gone off the point of skating because there r other things u have to do now. This is a good game and if u were to but it I would definately by it from amazon as they r the cheapest by far. I have just ordered mi copy and if u like skating games then I would recommend u buy it. But if u r new to skating games or the Tony Hawks series I would rent it from Blockbuster, Apollo or wherever just in case before u buy.

I'm a skateboarder. I love the sport. The THPS series and THUG have been amazing, and just when you think they've done it all, they another brilliant feature. THUG was awesome, and from what I hear THUG 2 should blow it's predecessor away. I for one cannot wait for this game, it will be fantastic. I'm going to buy it, so why don't you?
