Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell: With the Six Nations more popular than ever there’s never been a greater demand for a decent rugby sim and this game is good enough to satisfy almost all comers. With a full range of both international and national teams this has everything a rugger fan could ask for. The lowdown: Rugby is not the easiest of sports to simulate for a video game but this is undoubtedly the best effort yet. It plays hard and fast with the rules sometimes (which is to say it ignores them if it will unduly affect the flow of play) but as an arcade style sports game it all works perfectly in context. Although occasionally unresponsive the controls cope well with the complexities of the game and the tutorials are great at helping you no matter whether you’re more unfamiliar with rugby or video games. There are also mountains of tournaments and cups, as well as some wholly original concepts like the Superstar mode - where only one player on each team can score points. Most exciting moment: Winning a virtual Grand Slam in the Six Nations cup with the country of your choice. Since you ask: Developers Swordfish Studios also produced the excellent World Championship Rugby for Acclaim, as well as the classic John Lomu Rugby for Codemasters. The bottom line: It’s not the Pro Evolution Soccer of rugby but it comes close. HARRISON DENT

This game is amazing!!! It is so fun trying to unlock different teams, kits, balls and stadiums. Sure the graphics aren't anything special, but for a game of this much fun, you can't have it all. The commentary is a bit repettitive, but with loads of carreer modes, it's well worth the money!! And for even more fun, have a go with your mates!

As Many you may have noticed this, this is game is essentially a copy of WCR Rugby which came out just after England won the world cup in rugby. It is exactly the same, same game set up, controls, exactly the same commentary lines, same tactics. To be honest when i rented this game i thought it might be something new as i love rugby games and my copy of wcr rugby (which is now available for a about £3 on Amazon Marketplace) was getting a bit boring, If you want a game like the original in which you will be bored of unless rugby is a huge part of your life get this one, it is a more attractive and more detailed version of a basic original. However, rugby 06 looks to be much more promising and as with all ea games will be loosly based around the things you can do in fifa(career etc). I however am going to hold on to my cash until this new rugby super league 2 game comes out which has been worked on for a long time. Ideally dont trust reviews for your game, rent them all and make your mind up.
Waste of money!!! February 8, 2006 Mr L J Harris (newport, gwent United Kingdom) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF CR^&%P. 1/ Graphics are cartoony. 2/ Gameplay is to simplified. 3/ Southern hemisphere licences are a joke. 4/ Only international stadium. 5/ On opposition penalty kick to touch the play just stops and the oppostition kicker just stands there with his ball in his hand and you have to quit the game. Can't belive i traded ea 2005 for this!!!!! Can't wait to trade it in for ea 2006!!!

good game much better than ea sports rugby 2005 as computer actually gives away penalties.Realistic gameplay with real player names.Good training routines to get you started and used to the gameplay.Only downside lot of button bashing for scrums rucks and mauls, that apart good improvement and lots of fun.
