2 out of 5 stars Overpriced   August 24, 2008
Zabba (THAT island)
While this product does work very well from what I've seen, it's simply too expensive. Couple this with the 40 a gold membership costs, you'll end up paying roughly 100 just to get Live up and running. Those who can connect there's directly by wire don't need to worry as they don't have to shell out 50- 60 for this, but for people like me, who's 360 lies ever so far away from a wireless router, it's an extremely annoying hinderance.

Also take into account, the Wii has this built in, now, fair enough, the Wii's online service isn't as developed or as good as Live, but it's free and built in nevertheless. I don't mind paying for this product in general, but at 50-60 I find myself thinking that's it's just not worth the money.

3 out of 5 stars Good but no WPA2   August 20, 2008
Film Fan (London)
Simple to install, reliable, easy to configure BUT does NOT support WPA2 (supports WPA though). Even though there's an option on the 360 setup that says WPA2 (greyed out) this item does not support it whatever else you may hear. There's even a knowledgebase article on www.xbox.com apologizing for some incorrect manuals that claim that it does support it. Come on Microsoft, even my two year old Netgear WAP can do WPA2!

Second gripe is of course the price. Yes, it's very neat, matches the 360, configures easily and nicely clips onto the back of the machine, but is that really justification for TRIPLE the price of any other USB wireless adaptor? No, it's just a rip off. Sure put on some margin for the 360 badging, but times three? Get real.

Given the pain WiFi can be, the ease of setup gets this to score three stars. Would have been five, but high price loses one star and no WPA2 loses another.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Investment   July 29, 2008
Mrs. K. M. Davies (Manchester, England)
True - 50-60 is a good deal of money to splash out on one little bit of kit. But boy, is it worth it! I can connect to Xbox LIVE wired or wirelessly, and the ONLY sure-fire way to connect without any wires is this little beauty.

The investment is definetly worth it. If you want/need wireless connection to LIVE, this is the way forward.

4 out of 5 stars Job Done   July 18, 2008
Sanjay (bristol, UK)
I'm just going to reiterate what people here have been saying. I got this, plugged it in, it detected my network and I was online in a few minutes. DONE!

The reception is very good even between 2 walls and a ceiling. The instructions are rubbish but it's quite simple (go to network settings, EDit settings, Network Type (or something), input WEP key DONE!

The only real downside is the COST! However, this appears to be quality bit of kit & stops my wife from complaining about the wires.

4 out of 5 stars Wireless bridge- costly, but reliable and worth it.   May 17, 2008

How much of a hit this product will be with you depends on how simple you find it to set your console up to your network. It took me weeks. However, it took me weeks with a D-Link router, to work with with this bridge, and it never worked properly, but it took minutes to set it up with a netgear router. Since then it has worked fine, and opened up X-box live to me. Get it if:
You can't really get wired
You are good with computers and networks or know someone who is
You have a good router ( i recommend Netgear ADSL2)
((( I rated this products fun on xbox lives fun, and i took a star off for price and how long it took me to set it up.
