Amazon.co.uk Review Dance 'til you can dance no more with the fantastic Dance: UK for PSone. With 20 incredible floor-filling tunes and karaoke sing-along options to choose from this is truly the all-singing, all-dancing game experience you've been waiting for. The Dance: UK range also includes the eight-way dance mat, a wireless karaoke microphone and a mini-speaker system. Whether you buy one or all of these products, good times are guaranteed (although be advised that setting it all up can take a few minutes and a bit of patience, as you need to reconnect your console to the TV). The game is best played with the Dance:UK eight-way dance mat, although it is compatible with all dance mats. The dance steps (standard up, down, left and right, plus, if you have an eight-way mat, the four corners) and routines are suitable for all levels. You choose from single player, two-person and eight-player consecutive modes, and there are four progressive difficulty levels to work through. However, absolute beginners may find it challenging--the tutorial mode is basic, and not as comprehensive as Dancing Stage's, so dance mat first-timers may find that starting out with eight steps is a little daunting. Other features include an aerobic mode and a step recorder allowing you to record, save and dance your own routines. There's no faulting the selection of dance trackswhether you're a pop, hip-hop, old skool or R&B fan there's a full-length dance tune with your name on it, including "Round Round" (Sugababes), "Gotta Get Thru This" (Daniel Bedingfield), "One Night Stand" (Mis-Teeq), "It's Like That" (Run DMC featuring Jason Nevins) and "Disco Inferno" (the Trammps--ask mum or dad who they are). --Amber Pring

The only Dance Game I will play -- December 19, 2006 Joshua Penman Because the arrows come in three dimensions, this is the ONLY dance-mat game that doesn't have a horrible learning curve as you figure out which place you're supposed to step both from the direction the arrow it's pointing AND its position on the screen. In Konami's Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), and every other dance game I've seen, you don't have that ammount of intuitiveness. But on the other hand, Dance UK can get way more complex than DDR with its 8-way controller! In the harder levels, you even have to put your hand down in addition to your two feet to tap an arrow sometimes! All the complaints about this game being confusing are unfounded: if you have to step on two arrows at once the arrows are the same colour and occupy the same 3-d space. BigBen INteractive have made a better interface than any other dance game on the market, but it's being overshadowed by the preponderance of Konami's DDR Empire. Plus, the songs rock, and I don't even like dance music. After 10-odd years of playing video games from Mario to hardcore shooters, it's the funnest game I've ever played. I'm trying to find one to ship over to the states for myself right now...
EXCELLENT! February 29, 2004 Summer (birmingham united kingdom) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Most of the other reviews say that dance uk isnt very good but i think its excellent. The songs r much better than the ones on the konami games. There is the cheekygirls, westlife, sclub, sugababes and lots of other great songs.Theres 8 modes aerobics, training, multiplayer, dance uk mode, karaoke(where the words 2 the song come up at the bottom of the screen so u can sing along) and a few other modes. On the dance uk mode u go through lots of auditions, each in a different tv studio and u pick between a few songs on each audition.u can do it on easy, medium or hard,on easy it is just normal arows but on medium and hard ther r diagonal ones as well.I wouldnt recomend dance uk if its ur first time on a dance mat as it is quite hard if u r not used to playing on 1. But i think it is a very good game.

it says on amazon that it has misteeq but where is it??? i have a 4 way mat so i can only do the easy level and it is too easy for me as i can usually do 4 feet thingy on konami games. what are the black, green, yellow arrows mean?? doesnt tell u in the book!!! well confusing the arrows from the centre cos u cant tel if its a 2step thingy, where u stand on 2 arrows at the same time all confusing
my auntie helped put it together! November 16, 2003 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
I think this game is ACE!!! it has everything you could want in dance mat. some people are really picky about where the arrows come from but DOES IT REALLY MATTER?????My auntie emma is the dancer on-screen in the corner she is ACE!
Dance UK goes for a burden. October 28, 2003 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
I was disapointed with DanceUK, whereas with the Konami games, the arrows rise from the bottom, but on this they come from the middle, and it's very difficult to focus. Also, the Basic level of a dance is really hard, so it's not good for first time dancers. And their dance mat hasn't been constructed very well, they're slippy and it's dangerous wearing socks. Maybe I'm picky, but the makers need to re-think there mistakes and put them right, should they bring another version.
