Its not so bad January 2, 2008 Steve Kay 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Delaware St John double pack is more of a storyline game, than an actual free flowing game, its more like those multi option books where the reader decides what direction they want the story to unfold in and so turns to a certain page to read the next piece of the story in that option. ...One small problem, there isn't really any option, you play the game like this and go further til its done, which is midly frustrating. The game also has some areas where you can exmine the area, to look for clues and the like; where there is nothing to get or use, and other areas where you know (from having played before) there is something that you need, but cant examine it til you're told you need it. That too is frustrating because if and when you get stuck, you look in areas you know you can examine seeing if the item is now there to use, not realising that other areas have become available to examine which when you looked before weren't I, however, enjoyed this game which I describe more as in interactive graphic novel. I've completed this double pack and the 3rd volume and I'm wondering if there will be another installment of this game, as I'm itching to see where next this story can go.
Oh dear October 30, 2007 Bob 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Both of these games have great potential but feel as though they have not been finished. Typical of this is the fact that there are many places where you can zoom in and get some sort of description like it is a locked box but never able to do anything about it. The puzzles that there are and there are very few are easy. There are two sequences where you can be killed off and have to reload if you do not reach the stated room in enough time, this seems only to exist to make the game more frustrating rather than add any interest. For some reason the game is slow to respond to the controls and when in volume one you have to dispatch ghosts it is only through playing afew times and knowing where they are goin to appear allows you to continue. The PDA is a good idea again not expanded on and has only minimal use except to get clues which were not needed anyway. In summary avoid
