2 out of 5 stars What a waste of time!   July 9, 2008

This is NOT a a puzzle adventure game. It's just a puzzle GAME. It's not a game with the modern conception of the term, it's an old fashioned game to kill your time on.

Let me tell you how the gameplay goes: You spend about 45 minutes to solve a puzzle, you get a code or a key, you open the next safe, you spend another 45 minutes to solve the next puzzle, and so on...

The difficulty of the puzzles range from easy to very hard (or better extremeley annoying). This is a game that requires huge amounts of patience, and I didn't have any so I used hints more than once.

The puzzles themselves are the ultimate cliche puzzles and in terms of innovation they would get a "0" from me. Out of about 20 puzzles, only 3 or 4 could be described as unique (although I am sure they also "borrowed" these puzzles as well from another source I'm not familiar of).

If someone tells you that safecracker is an adventure game similar to other puzzle adventures (Rhem series, Schizm etc), he lies. If you like sudoku, anagrams and this kind of stuff, you may like Safecracker. I didn't.

Great game - new concept - a couple of iffy logical puzzles in the middle but the rest were really good - difficult but fair. Are there any more games like this out there?
