Amazon.co.uk Saints Row 2 brings true freedom to open-world gaming. Players can play as who they want, how they want, and with whomever they want in this sequel to the much acclaimed and tremendously successful Saints Row. Set years after the original, the player finds himself in a Stilwater both familiar and strange and challenged with bringing the Saints back as the rightful kings of Stilwater and bringing vengeance to those who wronged him.

Outstanding game November 14, 2008 jakethemuss If you, like me, felt let down by the over hyped, drastically under-delivering GTA IV then I seriously recommend this to you as a similar themed but much more fun game to get your teeth into. Right from the start I knew that I was in for a good ride, the first mission is fun and cool, without being too hard or tricky. You also get a good feel for the game during the first mission, unlike GTA IV where your just driving a car around in the dark (what fun!) From here on in you shouldn't be getting bored or stuck for things to do. Theres alot to buy with the money you earn and a whole world of side missions and escapades to be getting stuck into. One of the coolest things about this game is the ability to buy and customize cribs; can even choose what type of bed and TV you will have in your pad! Cut scenes are entertaining to say the least. These are actually worth watching due to the fast paced action/gunfight scenes that frequent them. They're not just some boring string of conversations between 2 Russian mobsters *no names mentioned*. Gangs are interesting and unique looking, and fun to mow down or blow up! The graphics are neat and a big step up from the first outing, as is the car dynamics and character movement. Flashy, eye catching HUDs and on screen commands. I could go on about how sweet this game is. If you even semi liked Saints Row...then it would be a sin not to play this.A+
Saints Row 2 360 November 8, 2008 Maria Saints Row 2 is so much better than gta 4 the goal of the game is to take back what is yours get rid of all the gangs in the city it's a great game better than most gta games overall i give this a 10!
A dumbed down GTA copy for chavs. November 2, 2008 B. Pinner (England) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Probably one of the worst 360 games I have ever played. It feels like a beta version of an unfinished game. It's just a really chavvy version of GTA with all it's stupid ghetto lingo and stupid glitches. The driving physics feel like something out of PS1's ridge racer. The graphics are so unpolished and unfinished with very little texture on the cars. I played this game for just under an hour, then immediately wrote an advert on ebay for this game - I feel sorry for the poor sucker that brought it. If you want a game like GTA, do yourself a favour and just buy GTA.

Volition Inc. 1, Rockstar 0 October 28, 2008 J. Andrews (UK.) This game is heavily inspired by GTA and with SR3 announced to be in development, it looks like these two series will be rivals for the long-term. After completing the campaign in co-op, Saints Row 2 in my opinion must be considered the market leader in this genre. Advantages: Co-op: its a seamless well designed experience. you can play by yourself, invite a friend to your world, and carry on whilst they join. nearly all of the missions and activities are structured so you both can contribute, with one driving and other other shooting, or doing different tasks..playing with a friend is an absolute blast and really takes this game to a new level. Story: i played saints row 1 recently and the story carries on from it well, and has the excitement that GTAIV so lacked - each section feels much more like a proper campaign than a series of disjointed missions. The frequent videos are often laugh out loud funny. Fun/Ease of Play: the whole game is designed for fun, rather than realism. not everyone will like that, but for me a major factor. when fail a mission, you start from a checkpoint or the beginning of the mission, so no more having to restock ammo and drive to the mission. it reduces realism but makes it so much better to play. Breadth of the Game: campaign mode is long and doesnt get boring, with a excellent range of different missions to do, and with excellent side activities. youve actually got something to do with your money in this game - buy jewelry, clothes, tattoos, cribs, boats, shops - and is well connected so as you increase your style get more respect points to unlock missions. your character can be anything you want he or she to be, with the best customization model ive seen in a game. Driving: i cannot understand the review which criticises the driving in this game. its fantastic. theres a wide range of cars and bikes, good handling, points for near-misses crashes etc which provides another element to simply driving around. Disadvantages: Lack of originality: although SR2 does it extraordinarily well, there isnt a great deal in this game which hasnt been done before. many of the cars have simply been copied from SR1. Graphics: they arent as good as GTAIV, but then they arent the same repetetive grainy realistic surroundings than that game. i found the environment a much more pleasant experience to be in than Liberty City. Conclusion: most fans of the genre will probably accept, once they have played the co-op with a friend, that this is the new leader of the genre. i highly recommend it.
