Up to now The Simpsons games have been nothing if not consistent: they've all been completely rubbish. However, The Simpsons: Hit & Run thankfully breaks this 100 per cent record, and although it's hardly a classic in its own right it's just the thing for fans who want to worship their favourite characters through the medium of the joypad. Like many of the more recent Simpsons games Hit & Run is primarily a racing game--a racing game that's very obviously using Grand Theft Auto as its primary inspiration. There's less swearing and gore but just as much running people over and driving lots of different vehicles. You can't steal them off the street, admittedly, and the missions are presented in a much more linear fashion, but otherwise this is GTA: Springfield through and through. Somewhat embarrassingly for GTA, the on-the-foot sections are actually handled rather better than Rockstar's game, with a fairly non-rubbish camera and a decent control system that actually makes the occasional platform sections rather fun. Most of the game is about driving, though, whether it be racing Principle Skinner to school in order to give Lisa her homework or helping Bart buy some illegal fireworks from around town. It's only when controlling underage characters such as Bart that the game's concept really starts to seem peculiar (he only drives unmotorised vehicles) but otherwise the addition of all the proper voice actors from the TV show make this the first Simpsons game ever that is in any way worthy of a purchase. --David Jenkins

simpsons hit and run is a free roaming mission based adventure game set in 7 different levels through-out springfield, the missions are very well constructed and all have part of a very unique and veryy well written story line, the story line has twist and can be unexpected at times. you get to play as marge, homer, bart, lisa and apu, each character for one level, you can collect coin which you use to buy clothes and new cars, there are many landmarks to see from the simpsons world like, the power plant, the school, the kwik e mart, the comic store, moes tavarn and so on, the side missions are also very fun and they can be used to unlock extra cars, and there are also races to complete. i recomend this to ANYONE who likes simpsons or free roaming mission based game, and as far as simpsons games go this game is damn near perfect, couldve done with soem kind of weapon instead of having to punch and but bounce all the time, but it doesnt bother me too much at all

This is a must have game for simpsons fans of all ages! Besides the good graphics and the many different missions to do, the controls are simple and easy to get a hang of, and some of the things the characters say are very funny.

If your prepared to have a LONG go on a game,and make your you finish to the end,then this is the game for you.Let me just run you through it.You play as several characters,Homer,Bart,Apu,Lisa and Marge.You have a wide range of vehicles to choose from,and you can also go round on foot.You have to do missions to help people out in various places.There are 7 worlds in total,all with a wide range of places to go.
This game gets better and better as you progress.
Defenetely one to buy.

The variety of scenaries plus all the hilarious situations and characters (Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Apu) makes the game dynamic and fun to play. The characters have the original voices from the cartoon. They always have something funny to say (Chest pain! Chest pain, says Homer while running somewhere ...). The bad point sometimes is the camera movements. It might make you dizzy and you can loose time in missions, just trying to adjust the right angle to do what you need to. There are a variety of items you can search. There are 3 races in every level (plus the races for money), the collectable cards plus the wasp cameras. Don't forget to buy new clothes for your character, specially the Devil costume for Homer. While playing Marge, look in the trailer park (close to the Power Plant) for a 4-wheel bike! Wicked! I enjoyed great time, time passes by while you're playing.
