Amazon.co.uk Review The seventh and final add-on pack for the PC megahit The Sims, this Makin' Magic release follows a fairly similar template, which will continue to keep fans of the franchise happy, and perhaps those untouched by it a little baffled. Nonetheless, there's a good argument here for stating that Makin' Magic is the best add-on of the lot. It requires a copy of the original game to play, and the idea this time is that your pretend community find themselves imbued with various magical powers to explore, along with ingredients to collect and mix up, magical quests to go on and some mysterious non-player characters to contend with. As you'd expect, you also get new locations and new items to play around with. The Magic Town, for instance, is well worth a visit, and you can pop there whenever you like. There are magic shows that can be performed here, and effectively there's street theatre to enjoy. It's a fun and quirky add-on pack, though it might not appeal to those who like things a little more based on reality. However, the developers here have applied a subtle and warm sense of humour, and it rubs off as you explore the Makin' Magic pack. Ultimately, you can't really describe a seventh add-on to a product as downright essential. It isn't, and everyone from the developers right down to the ardent fans of The Sims know it. It is, however, entertaining and good fun, and offers a fair bit extra for the outlay. You might not need it, but you're sure to enjoy it. --Simon Brew

So cool January 25, 2008 Mrs. N. J. Good fun for lo-spec PCs, but one little teensy-weensy problem... June 10, 2007 Mrs. K. E. Pearcy Well, I loved playing it (but my PC can't handle TS1 and TS2) but... I heard there were dragons. And they are cool. But. And this is a big but. They burn the house down!!! And it's really really annoying when they do that! But they're cute, in a dragonish way. (written not by the named author but her daughter, a Sims addict)

The makin' of magic! A truely wicked game where you can cast spells on other sims. You can even turn yourself into a werewolf, fairy, pixie, vampire and more! I love he cute pet dagons, but they set fire to your house a bit too much. Exciting new features and items. The only one dissapointing thing is that is is so addictive!! This is my first expantion pack, and I wonder what the others are like! A must buy game!!!!

In the unfortunately final add-on for The Sims, your sims' wildest dreams come true! Cast spells and make your garden gnomes and pink flamingoes come alive! Create coll charms that can make you extremely famous (if you have The Sims Superstar), and cook great treats and press nectar. Take a Balloon Ride to the all-new Magic Town and meet all-new NPCs such as the Mystery Man, Apothecary Todd, the Faerie Queen, Vicki Vampiress, the Snake Charmer, Bonehilda and the Wandering Widow. A real must-have for any Sims fanatic!
It was OK... October 24, 2004 3 out of 18 found this review helpful
This was quite a good game, good graphics, cool features, new clothes, funky hairdos, new houses, magictown. I had so much fun playing it with all my other games, but SHOCK HORROR!!! all my 6 sims games stopped working & I couldn't play it anymore. I am really confused as to why this happened. I am a bi annoyed at it and the sims ppl are on my nerves now!
