Amazon.co.uk Review Pokémon Crystal is, to a large extent, identical to Pokémon Gold or Silver, though there's a new intro, a few extra animations, a bit more info on the Unown and some changes to the rarity, availability and position of certain Pokémon--and for the first time you can now choose whether to play as a male or female character. Crystal's big selling point in Japan was its compatibility with the Mobile Adapter, allowing players to trade and fight at a distance via their mobiles, but that functionality is sadly lacking in the Western release. Much of the game is still about nurturing your Pokémon creatures, breeding them to create new types and pitting them in battle against the Pokémon of other trainers. Crystal also retains the day-and-night gameplay and the ability to import trained Pokémon from older versions of the game or trade with friends . Also, as in Gold and Silver, you can communicate with in-game non-playing characters by giving them your character's phone number. Doing so will open up opportunities for you to receive rare items and important information. You will also find a radio tuner mixed in with your gear; a radio show can put you in touch with special items, too. For players of Pokimon Red, Blue or Yellow there are two new Pokémon types, Dark and Steel, as well as an all-new world to explore. In summary, then: a great game, and a very worthwhile buy--but only if you're a Pokémon completist or you haven't already upgraded to Pokémon Gold or Silver.

A brief review of Pokémon Crystal and why its the best. period. July 23, 2008 S. L. Bragman (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R193MABNNS2R4D My first video review ever, so sorry about the bouts of unprofessionalism or hesitation. Few things to add: At some points in the video, I was mumbling and at one stage to me it sounded as if I said 360 pokemon, when I said 260, so sorry for any mumbling in the video, things are not what they seem! Also an addition to my review: Yes the Pokemon Crystal graphics are no way as good as the newer games, but like I said, its all about the classic style, and once you play the game, you definitely will stop caring about the graphics.

Pokémon has stepprd into the Johto area. The game is basically has the same goals as all the other pokémon games, catch 'em all. However, this version is slightly different to Gold/Silver. It has moving pokémon, see a wild pokémon, it moves. I would totally recommend this game to anyone with an interest in pokémon as you can explore Johto AND Kanto. Plenty to keep you busy. Not to be missed. It gets the official Dr. Wolves stamp of approval. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Pokemon Crystal: Best of the Bunch July 19, 2004 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This review is about Pokemon: Crystal Version For Gameboy Colour. The first "lot" of Pokemon was Blue,Red and Yellow. They were a hit, but people wanted more so Nintendo later came to Gameboy Colour again with "lot 2". This was Gold, Silver and of course, Crystal. They were another hit they had add-ons for sure: A Mobile Phone, A Radio, Two Regions, 16 Badges, Colour, 251 Pokemon, Day and night, Breeding Facility and New Dark and Steel Types. The delay for female Pokemon fans was carrying on until Crystal came along. This game had the same up-grades as Gold and Silver and a few more: The option to be a Girl or Boy Trainer and new and improved battle animation. I think this means that Pokemon Crystal is the best Gameboy Colour pokemon game around. So don't buy Ruby or Sapphire just yet. Think about it.
