Amazon.co.uk Review: In a nutshell: If you want as gentle an introduction as possible to the world of Wii then this user-friendly compilation of mini-games is just the thing for you, with a collection of games that are as easy to play as they are fun.The lowdown: It might be easy to use but the Wii is still a pretty unusual beast and a bit of a culture shock from the overly complex controllers of other consoles. This compilation of mini-games aims to ease you in gently with simple to play games that only need the Wii Remote to enjoy. These include games of table tennis, air hockey (or Laser Hockey as the game would have it) and an updated of NES classic Duck Hunt. There's also Wii Billiards, a fishing sim and a number of games which use your customised Mii Channel character, including Wii Pose and the Where's Wally style Find Mii. Since many of these games have a multiplayer mode the game also comes bundled with an extra Remote (but not a nunchuck), which usually sells for 29.99 separately. Most exciting moment: Although all of the games are fun the best one is probably the Duck Hunt update (which also has you shooting UFOs and other non-avian enemies). Perhaps what's most exciting about it is that it proves how good other light gun franchises, such as Virtua Cop and Time Crisis would be on the Wii. Since you ask: Many of the mini-games included with Wii Play, such as Duck Hunt and Table Tennis, were first seen as technical demos at the E3 trade conference in May 2006, when the Wii was first revealed in playable form. The bottom line: The beginner's guide to Wii, with a handy extra controller. - HARRISON DENT

Beginers heaven September 12, 2008 Ferris (Yorkshire) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
For little more than the price of a controller, you get this beginers game to get you going. Quite entertaining and very easy to use It talks you through step by step how to use the remote with different games, practicing skills that will come in useful on other games. It should entertain the kids for a while
controller good, game terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 31, 2008 Mr. C. P. Mcpherson (kett) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
i bought this with the wii just for the controller. I thought it was a great deal! a game and a contoller for less than 30. But the game itself is rubish!!! The table tennis game left me with arm ache and the cow game plays like the racers I used to play on my gba!! the pool game is ok with friends, but other than that, the only use I have for this disc is as a table coaster!!!!!!!!!
Nothing exiting! August 5, 2008 T. Husain (London, UK) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Having had the game for about a couple of hours and having gone throgh them all, here's what I think: * Gameplay is average * Only a couple of games worth playing among 9. Tank is probably the most fun, followed by Table Tennis and Billiard To be honest I'm surprised why Wii Play gets such good ratings. Only worth it, if you want the additional remote, which was what I wanted. Put the game itself up on eBay and sold for 10.50. Not bad.
what the actual game is like. August 5, 2008 J. Brown 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are the games in wii play, I rated them for 1 player and 2 players. Shooting - 7/10 1 player - 8/10 2 players. Table tennis - 7/10 1 player - 9/10 2 players. Lazer hockey (my fave) - 6/10 1 player - 10/10 2 players. find mii game - 9/10 1 player - 9/10 2 players. Wii biliards (my dads fave) - 6/10 1 player - 9/10 2 players. fishing - 8/10 1 player - 9/10 2 players. The wii shape bubble thing - 5/10 1 player - 4/10 2 players. So overal it is a good game. 4/5!
Great fun to get used to your Wii July 9, 2008 Snowy3 (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this game is how most people get their second controllers! its worth buying for that alone!. The mini games aren't quite as great as Wii Sports but certainly fun to have a play around with. Cow racing is VERY funny!.
