Amazon.co.uk Review When a game is delayed as long as Juiced it rarely bodes well for the end product. The delay seems especially unfortunate in this case it's meant the game has been beaten to the starting line by similar titles such as Need for Speed: Underground 2 and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. Juiced is, like the other games mentioned, a street racer and has the same obsession with customising your car with both performance mods and after-market cosmetic alterations (all of which are based on real products). 7.5 trillion combinations are apparently possible, although you'll have to trust THQ's maths on that as its doubtful they've counted them personally. What is truly unique about Juiced though is your ability to recruit and organise a team of your own racers. Special crew races are possible and you can control your team members in-race, in a similar manner to the B-spec mode in Gran Turismo 4. The show-off trick challenges are also a neat addition and a welcome alternative to the standard races. Although it has some interesting features there are still some notable problems with Juiced, particularly in terms of the handling which is disappointingly simplistic and an uncomfortable halfway house between the likes of Gran Turismo and Ridge Racer. The artificial intelligence of rival drivers is also weak and outside of the more exotic game modes the game treads very similar ground to its rivals. As long as you're not expecting anything too original though this is still a very competent racer. -- Harrison Dent

Mildly irritating? August 16, 2006 Shazzeth 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found this game fun at first, and my bright pink Peugeot and I got on fine with the tracks and challenges...I upgraded my car...I modified it...the modification side of this game is a lot of fun. Unlike lots of driving games you can literally change your car to any colour you like, change bumpers, sides, windows, neons, nitrous, spoilers, exhausts...everything; and that's fun. You can even add sponsors and graphics to the sides of your motor if you so desire. The let down of this game is the actual gaming. Once having your car all funked up and ready to go, you are left with 4 or 5 tracks, and a not particularly challenging concept. Race the odd guy, win by miles, get $5000...well that was difficult...so then, you patch up your car, go for another challenge...race a guy...win...get $5000...ah, I see a pattern forming here? In all honesty this game is fun at first, but there doesn't seem to be any real point to it. You race the same people over and over...do the same tracks over and over...and the main aim is the earn "respect" from a load of characters with stupid voices. Their respect isn't even that difficult to earn...simply play the short, straight tracks (can't remember the names) over and over using one of the members of your "crew" so you don't have to bother...and you will earn respect points with one person faster than you can say the word "boring". So, so easy. Yeah the graphics are good, but to me the fun in this game ended with the modifications.
Sounds boring and plain. But it's really good fun! July 14, 2006 Adam Rust (London, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Juiced is a very simple, enjoyable and is a game you can constantly pick up and play. The idea is similar to Need For Speed. However the experience is different. The best thing to do on Juiced is to do a career. But the one problem is that all the other options are not much fun. But a career will last you a looonnnngg time. You basically buy cars. (You get some very cheap ones at the beginning, like Beetle's and Honda CR-X's, and later on you can purchase Viper GTS' and Mustang's etc. You them mod them and race them. You make bets with 7 other crew leaders to take a shot at gaining lots of money during races, but all in all. This is all very simple and sounds a bit plain and ordinary. But Juiced is packed full of fun!
Tricky, but worth it. May 8, 2006 Prawnz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When you start out in Juiced you buy a nice slow hatchback, win tons of races at 4mph and think that you are pretty good at it. With this in mind, you go and buy something a bit faster and more exciting, probably rear wheel drive. And die. The cars are so tricky to steer you will be proud to get round a corner facing the right way. Despite this, Juiced is in my opinion a fantastic game. If you are used to NFS you will probably hate it, because it is so much more difficult. You'll also hate having to pay for damage to your own car, and for hitting other people's. I know, because it happened to me. All of those things, however, help to make you feel more a part of the game. There is no set storyline, so you must form a crew and train them to race either with you or on their own. The crew system helps to distinguish Juiced from the overcrowded street racer market, and brings some life to an otherwise repetitive game. You cannot treat it like NFS because trying to handbrake turn inevitably ends in a bush and ramming other drivers costs you money, but I think it is a much better game for it. It's so cheap now that you might as well buy it anyway. And if you can ever afford a Viper, get it.
A Good Purchase February 19, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game combines all the realism of street racing and the gamble of 'pink slip' and general betting. The mods are great and the gameplay is far more realistic in comparison to Burnout etc.I recommend to anyone
Juiced.... Very frustrating February 3, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I like so many other people bought juiced because I like NFSU2 however after the first time I played It I was so disappointed in It I just put it back in the and left it there for 2 or 3 month. I took me a real effort to get into this game and even then it was not really enjoyable. I don't know about the guy above but I couldn’t make any money on this game as soon as I got any money I lost a car and had to buy a new one or had to pay for race entries. The auto save thing is really annoying to. It saves your game before and after every race so If you make a mistake you cant go back which I guess makes It more realistic but who cares Its a game and this feature makes the game play really bad. Anyway to sum It up this game Is really poor so I wouldn’t buy It.......
