3 out of 5 stars Pretty bad but shockingly addictive   June 4, 2005

The supposed 'realism' of the game is non-existant. It's easier to score from about 40 yards out than even attempt to dribble around 1 defender because they tackle you EVERY time. The way to score is constantly hammer A to pass before eventually getting about 5 yards away from the edge of the penalty area and unleashing a howler and hoping that the keeper pathetically dives to the floor (50-50). Free kicks are do-able but shockingly hard, corners are far to easy. But the one thing i cant figure out is the game is addictive. It keeps me playing for hours, although i havent finished a season yet because they take to long. FIFA 2003 is by far better.

5 out of 5 stars FIFA 2004   March 21, 2005

FIFA Football 2004 is another brilliant EA Sports game, lots of cool stuff, I say this is probably the best footballing game I own just now. It was released quite a while ago, but that doesn't matter, it's on PLATINUM now, and is cheaper, and I have to believe that only the greatest best-selling games make it to PLATINUM. This one did and everyone should be impressed.

FIFA Football 2004 has good features too, the gameplay is simple and "easy!" (quoting soccer AM), the graphics and controls are brilliant so this is a great EA SPORTS production, here are the features, but forget about how long this game's been out on the market...

- Improved gameplay and animation (this is what makes this game stand out and nobody can disagree with this).

- Expanded database and controls (more space to load and save your games, Off the Ball control is a new feature to EA SPORTS).

- In-game management in Career mode (Career mode is the best on this game, play as a great or poor team and make your way to the top).

- 16 worldwide leagues, 350 teams and 10,000 players (this is quite a big number and it's impressive).

- Tons of staduims with crowd reactions and chants (this is another great enhancement EA SPORTS have made to impress and satsify players).

- Broadcast-sytle presentation.

- Online play (Ethernet lets you challenge other football madmen, quite cool to challenge others).

- Commentary from John Motson and Ally McCoist.

With these, FIFA Football is one of the best football games I've played and owned, everyone is giving this game a poor rating, this game certainly doesn't deserve this kinda calluosness at all, so BUY THIS AND BE IMPRESSED AND SURPRISED!!

1 out of 5 stars 100% Unreal   February 15, 2005

This game is probably the worst football game I have ever played. Little has changed since Fifa 99 on the N64.
lets see,
*The players dont pass to who you tell them to
* You can rarely tackle someone without it being a foul
* The goalkeepers dont even try to save it, they just dive pathetically onto the floor
* You cant get within about 1 m of an opposing player because every time you are tackled
* The commentary is poor
* The graphics are poor
* The overall gameplay is poor
*"Off the Ball" doesnt work
* The players dont look real
* You can rarely score, and when you do the keeper isnt even looking at the ball, he`s probably standing at the back of the net facing the crowd
* the other team always fouls and injures your team but the ref hardly ever blows the wistle
* There always about 10 minutes extra time
* it freezes all the time

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME, BUY A BETTER GAME LIKE SAN ANDREAS OR PES4

this is a very elegant game. they really catch the passion of football here. pro evolution 3 is better though, and so is fifa 2003. i only gave it three stars because there is 2 older games better then it! they wasted the oportunity 2 make one heck of a game. shame on them
