The Sims For PS2 Is Missing Somthing January 3, 2008 Ruby (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well the Sims 2 for PS2 was never going to be a brilliant game when it was missing some vital things the PC game had for example you cant age,die (unless of course you get an electric shock from the DJ Booth)have a two storie house, have kids and there arnt enough Sims to make friends with. It takes cheats to make it fun even though i am usually able to play PS2 without cheats. It just isnt fun for long enough. so once you have finished the game and unlocked all the clothes, recipies, objects and locations its just boring! If you want to buy a game that you will complete in less than 2 weeks and will be thrown on a shelf in you room until you forget how to complete it and finish it again until you go threw it all again then i would advise you to buy it....But at this point you must wonder why i gave it 4 stars if its that bad. Well even though i've finishedd it 5 tims you can always make a new family and do it all again or make a freeplay family which will never end either way i was hooked to do it again! Its a good game but if you have the choice get it for PC..........
A Let-Down Compared to PC/Mac Version July 16, 2007 Smiles (China) I was prepared for the worst when I put in the Sims 2 disc into my PS2. I bought the Nintendo DS version of the game and was disappointed that it was unlike the orignial version on the computer. However, the Sims 2 on PS2 has the option of Free Play and I found that although it was not as satisfying as playing it on the computer, it does the job. Like the PC/Mac version; you can build sims, a house, relationships etc. (though doing these things proves to be much more tedious than on the computer) Also- it is alot more difficult building your ideal sim. Because I am used to the PC/Mac version, I find this game less fun than somebody who has never played the game would- but unlike the computer version there is no waiting for it to download (+ the computer version uses up hoards of memory on your PC/Mac).

This game has an over-powering pong of potential. It's not dissimilar to the PC version; you create sims, lead their lives and build houses but it seems like a bit of a test drive, EA seem to be trying it out to see if it could work with future games The loading times are very tedious and making one sim can take up to 40 minutes if you want to make it look good. But as I said before, the game does have potential. The story mode is very promising. Your aim is to move from house to house, completing different goals and aspirations. Also, exclusively to the PS2 version is having the ability to actually walk your sim through the house using the left analog stick, with the ability to also move them 'old skool', clicking from square to square to make them wak. The game also takes up a lot of space on your memory card so be warned! Overall it's a good game but could be a lot better.
Major let down January 6, 2007 CathRun (The Midwest) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Get Sims or Sims 2 for your PC along with the expansion packs...they are the real games and much more creative than this incredibly disappointing version. Not worth the money and it takes a long time to download as well. We found it hard for kids to manipulate as opposed to the original. Overall, it just wasn't much...well...fun.
WHATS HAPPENED?!?!?! December 28, 2006 T. Lammas (England) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The Sims 2 (PS2) is fun to play and has many styles of clothing and accesories to choose from. the 'Story Mode' - as all Sims PS2 games have them - keeps you occupied for a couple of hours (maybe days) so you can unlock all the locked items avalible. The graphics are excellent and the objects are out-of-this-world. However, it differs amazingly to any other Sims game. THERE ARE NO SWIMMING POOLS, THERE ARE NO 2nd STORIES AND THE TIME IT TAKES TO LOAD IS ASTONISHING. Whether you want to change location, change your clothes or save your game, it takes oodles of your time by loading.
