4 out of 5 stars Good but not great   February 3, 2008

If the reason for buying this game is becuase you want to play on the carrer don't buy it buy Fifa street 1.On this carrer you do get build your carrer the most and thats class but you do skill challenges which is so hard and anoying to do so as well as playing games with your team, but you have to earn your team first. The only two other things, as well as the price being so high, compared to the first game is that you get to build your own arena and once you've done it once it's not great and also that you get to make your own radio station and thats quit cool. So overall the grafices are good, the carrer's rubbish, it gets boaring and it's basicly a copy of the first. So if you had the choice between the two games then pick th first because i give this game a 5/10 rating because its a copy of the first.

3 out of 5 stars Not really the same   July 22, 2006

I thought this game looked like good fun, so I thought I'd give it a try. Don't get me wrong, it CAN be fun, but it really doesn't shine compared to its professional football counterpart.

One main gripe I have is with the moves. Basically, you'll spend your entire life hammering away at the controller, and maybe rack up 100, maybe 200 points. The AI controlled team just needs to cross the halfway line to instantly rack up 800+ for no obvious reason. They can perform tricks MUCH faster than any human player, and sooner or later they'll get some weird power-up - the screen slows down Matrix-style, while they score with some flaming-shot that you can't save at all. This adds another few thousand points to them, while you're left languishing.

The controls are pretty sluggish, too - the buttons as listed in the manual often fail to respond at crucial moments. But, when they do work, you can sometimes get a slightly impressive move-combo in, which'll put your score higher than the computer's for about... 30 seconds at most.

Now, I know this is Street Soccer, but the music is pretty bad. Endless, almost chav-like drum beats, accompanied by some iffy MC doing commentary of key moments within the match.

One final thing - this game appears to be fully licensed, what's the point? The real Wayne Rooney and the real Cristiano Ronaldo don't play this type of football, so why licence them into the game? The whole point about Street Soccer is it's played by ordinary people, who don't have access to the professional football world or to Wembley etc., it's not supposed to be glamorous or have big name players.

All in all, I think it's an OK game, but little more than that. It lacks the feeling and spirit of the full, professional FIFA football games and, like I say, they've probably wasted a good licence on it. If you want button bashing and frustration, this game is for you. If you want proper, believable football action, get FIFA 2007 or Pro Ev 6 when they come out.

4 out of 5 stars Good But...   May 15, 2006

At first, this game seems like a laugh. Nutmeg your mates, flick it over the head of ronaldinho, it's a lot of fun. But, as you get on with the career, the game gets incredible frustrating. Your opponent seems to be able to block everything with ease, score goals really easily, and rack up huge combos before you know it, whilst u struggle to put a couple of passes together against them. Its satisfying when you win, but it can cause a few moments of anger. Despite this, the players look very good, there are oodles of bonuses to win, and there is a great variety of game modes. So, good graphics, alright gameplay, rewarding, but can get very very annoying.

at the start of the game it was quite good. but i just got frustrated with it! The graphics are good but the gamplay is rubbish. Your player keeps falling over when the other person does a trick. not realistic. this keeps repeating. if u like trick football games then u may like this. OR YOU MAY GET FRUSTRATED WITH IT!!!
