5 out of 5 stars Hilarious and fun-filled game!   December 23, 2007

Out of all the products i've reviewed, I have NEVER been so enthusiastic to give a five-star rating. I first bought this game for my mum and 23 year-old sister, as neither of them are particularly great at video games, and thought this would be a fun easy game that i wouldn't have to help them with every five minutes.

Being quite an experienced gameplayer, i thought such a trivial-looking game would not interest me... i was severely mistaken!!! Within minutes i was hooked. Im a big fan of the star wars films, and absolutely loved seeing the characters come to life in LEGO form... GENIUS!!! While keeping to the story devoutly, the game also has hilarious little quirks such as a storm trooper being caught un-awares in a bikini. These little touches are deffinately the icing on the cake.

Being that it is IMPOSSIBLE to die as you just re-materialise, i thought the game might be un-challenging, but there are plenty of puzzles to work out and extras to go back and discover throughout the levels. And there's no fear of getting stuck on a level as all of the levels are unlocked after completing the first.

This game is simple enough that children can play it, yet hilarious and HUGE enough to keep teenagers and adults occupied too!! I thouroughly recommend it to EVERYONE!!!!

I gave this game five stars beause I really like the way you become Lego characters & the game is also very funny. All Star Wars fans should buy this game & those who aren't fans should try it.

5 out of 5 stars Great game that will get 2 kids to play collaboratively   November 10, 2007

I agree with all the other reviewers that this is a smart, addictive game with a sense of humour and an appeal that spans generations.

But you already know all that. What I'd like to highlight is the way the game gets my two individualistic and highly competitive boys to play together collaboratively. You get the most from this game when playing in 2 player mode and often you can only progress when both players work together. Player 2 has equal status with player 1 and, at least in a galaxy far far away, my kids collaborate instead of competing.

5 out of 5 stars Best Star Wars game, Hans (Solo) down !   June 24, 2007

This is excellent; the chance to live out a lot of your favourite (original) Star Wars scenes, but best of all in a Lego-fied version, which may sound an odd concept at first but it adds a lot more fun to the whole thing; something that the more 'serious' Star Wars games over the years have been missing. Think of a cool scene in the history of the first three films and it's probably in there already (the Death Star bombing run, the Sarlaac Pit execution scene, the speeder bike chase on Endor). The sound effects are spot-on too; you'll never tire of the lightsabre or TIE fighter sound effects. The difficulty is set really well in the way that if you want to get through it easily, it'll let you bash on with multiple lives 'til the end, whereas doing it properly without dying regularly and managing to unlock everything is a whole different matter.. Also, I wouldn't say it's taxing as such, but there were still a few moments where I had to sit and just figure out how the hell I was meant to progress, so I think it would be unfair to dismiss this as a game you could just stroll through with your eyes closed (despite it's kiddy look). I haven't tried co-op mode yet, but it worked really well for mates just wanting to join in for 10 mins or so on the 1st game, so I can't imagine it being much different. A random touch to the game that I really appreciated was that (if you had Lego as a kid) there's a good chance you'll actually recognise some of the parts that things scatter into when exploded !

So yeah, overall a game that puts the fun back into gaming, and reminds you why you loved Star Wars so much in the first place (more so than the 3 cringeworthy new films).
