Fast-Paced Action For Everyone January 16, 2008 DL Productions UK (Merseyside, UK) I've been a fan of Tony Hawk games since the very beginning, and have always loved their flexibility, diversity and most of all control methods. So when I got Downhill Jam, I thought it might not be as good as the others; after all it's more racing then freestyle skating - how wrong I was? This game is fun, you get to skate around tracks like San Francisco, Edinburgh and many other places around the globe. The main type of race are points, specials (like knocking people down), races, slalom and others which I've not unlocked yet. There's also a lot of boards in the game, so get those points to get them. Some things I didn't like is the fact you can't make your own downhill race park. This has been a problem for a few Tony Hawk games and I'm saddened to see it go, as it was always good fun. Also there's not many modes, once you've done the game in the standard mode you're complete. Plus if you're an experienced gamer (I'm not LOL) then you'll have this game done within around 4hrs, maybe less. Also there's no character building software inside the game, so you can't be yourself, which is uncool dude! This is great for the 12-16 year old demographic, I really can't see it appealing to anyone else really. The game can get boring after a while and can frustrate you if you don't pass a level. Still, it'll keep me occupied so it's all good.
