Amazon.co.uk Review
Super Mario World for the SNES sits at or near the top of most "best videogame" lists for a reason. At the time of its release it was a dramatic evolution of the side-scrolling Mario series of action-adventure games, incorporating every gameplay element that worked in the older titles while adding a seemingly endless supply of new tricks. This new feature-complete version for the Game Boy Advance proves just how timeless designer Shigeru Miyamoto's 1990 classic really is.

In true Miyamoto fashion, the game starts with simple running and jumping and gradually gets more complex. Soon you're swimming, flying, tossing fireballs, and riding one of several Yoshis--cute little dinosaurs--that appear throughout the game. The overall level design has yet to be exceeded in a 2-D platformer, with each colourful level packed with enough secrets to keep players busy for weeks. A lot of precision jumping is required, but the controls are so tight that directing Mario (or even Luigi, who wasn't playable in the original) becomes as natural as breathing within a few minutes of playing.

As if packing the entire original game onto the tiny cartridge wasn't enough, Nintendo have also included two multiplayer versions of the original Mario Bros, which are playable solo or with up to three other people using Game Link cables to connect all your Game Boy Advance systems. Both variants are a blast, but the single-player adventure is what kept us coming back for more. If you missed Super Mario World when it appeared for the SNES, don't make the same mistake twice. --T Byrl Baker

hurrah! a way to play the classic snes game on the move. the people that have given it one star are probably too young to remember how great games were before fancy graphics and silly controllers. its all about the gameplay kids... and this is the game to play.

5 out of 5 stars Super Mario Advance 2 :-BEST GAME FOR GAME BOY ADVANCE CONSOLE   September 17, 2006

This is quite easily one of the best Mario games and probaly the best game on the GBA out now, You start with guess what the princess being captured out on an outing. This time you can play as either Mario or Luigi with both of the brothers have separate abilites and not Just matching outfits!
So the Princess gets captured while on a Hot Air balloon Trip and Mario and Luigi go over to Entertain them-selves, when they get back she Is gone!
There Is a whole map of the area you will be playing through which you can see after the Intro section.
You start on Yoshis Island and realise all the Yoshis are gone and have been Imprisoned In certain areas which you can retrieve them while scrolling along the platforms. The Graphics are Great on this as you go by and the Enemies are good too! A lot more are Involved In this such as Fire Balls, Dino things, certain strange Fish. Basically loads but I cannot remember all of them, when you complete It though you get a Whole anime Video of all of them. Another ending after too....
The Best aspect is all of the Levels, I think there are 96 secret levels and exits in the game, I also have completed this 100% but the game Is an absolute Joy to play, various parts form as you progress and Unlock Secreted Exits. The music Is Great to, from the cool Vanilla dome music to the strange Illusion Forest.
Replay Value Is great as really you cannot complete the game after Bowser, you can get all of the Five Yoshi Headed Coins In Levels and all of the Switch Palace.
[The Yoshi End is Truly charming!]
Big Wide Map, with plenty of Exits and hidden areas (Red) , lots of exciting Enemies, cool pick-ups Feather, ability to Fly, also the Original Power Flower and Mushroom.
This Is Yoshi's first outing, and could not be more Inviting!! The dinosaurs come In a Variety of colours each with their own abilities, My Favourite being Blue Yoshi. Some Levels Even require Yoshis help to get through, but there Is no hindurance Involved with him.

Easily as the End of GBA Era ends, [I know about the New Format to take over DS]
It Is the BEST game on the Game Boy Advance Console.
I would also recommend the other Mario titles for Advance Series.
Super Mario Advance [Reviewed]
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's island [Reviewed]
Super Mario Advance 4 [ Under Construction Soon]
Mario Kart: Super Circuit [Reviewed], by the way not worth it, looks so dilapidated compared to Mario Kart DS and Is a lot harder getting Triple Star than the DS Version.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour [Reviewed] {RPG}

5 out of 5 stars Mario= The Best Of The Best.   June 3, 2006

In my opinion this is the greatest game to hit the game boy advanced ( Also along with Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero) and the best snes game of all time. It's taken right from the snes with a few minor changes here and there, such as multi-player and yet another version of the acrcade super mario game that sees you cleaning up stage after stage of mario enemies.
You have got 9 worlds to explore coming to a total of 96 levels, to get a few of the levels you will have to find secret exits out of stages and so on. Super Mario World also contains, still to this day, one of gamings most beloved secrets of all time, Star Road. If you have never played this game on the snes then trust me your in for a very lucky treat. Top stuff!

5 out of 5 stars Another hilarious game inspired by Mario!   September 7, 2005

I have been affiliated with Mario games since June of 2005, and I'm still obsessed with these games. I don't understand why other individuals don't like it, or have lost interest in it. Let me tell you, I have been looking for this game since the day I have became a fan of these games. I went to every electronic store that I can think of, even the used game shops. I suddenly lost hope of finding the game, and I was about to burst like Krakatoa, and was extremely frustrated, until I came across a store in Portland, Oregon, called EB Games. I went in there, totally naive about what I would find. It has changed my gaming career for a long time to come. Yes, I found Super Mario World. When I played the game, I thought it was an amazing game, full of adventure, though I haven't completed the game yet, but I know some advantages, and disadvantages of this game. One of the advantages of this game is that there's new "Mariomonsters" that are indeed strange in a special way, like Lakitu, and Rex, etc. Another thing is that it has Yoshi. Yoshi has been my favorite Mario character ever since I was introduced to Mario. I like his abilities like making eggs etc. Ok, these are the disadvantages, (mostly about Yoshi). Yoshi can't flutter kick. That means he can't jump very far, and he has minimal intelligence, like he keeps running when you get off, he will keep going until he falls off a cliff. This game is pretty cool, and I am looking forward in completing the game, so get the game. You will love it. Super Mario World will eventually make you a fan like me.

5 out of 5 stars Great game   February 18, 2005

A great game, with perfect controls and great level design. But beware...it DOES NOT have 96 levels as everyone says. It has 96 exits - some levels have two exits. it actually has 70-odd levels.
