Very good October 13, 2008 A. Ibironke If you own a gba and a game cube then this is for you. (Especially if you have Pokemon). Note: This does sometimes fall out of the gba slot which can be annoying.
A One-Sided Affair November 10, 2005 G. Bright (Derbyshire, England) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I've only used this cable with Pokemon Colosseum but it's very picky with the direction in which it takes information. It's fine with sending information (such as the Berry Fix) to the GBA but refuses to take information from the GBA (such as Pokemon team data). This renders it practically useless. Very disappointing.
Doesnt work with Pokemon July 28, 2004 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
The only game I've used this with so far is Pokemon Colosseum/Pokemon Ruby and the game cut the connection and said 'link invalid', so a very dissapointing bit of kit.
Does not work with animal crossing July 2, 2004 Stephen Kissane (Birmingham, UK) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
Do not be fooled by the price, buy the official cable. I bought this thinking I would save a few pounds, only to find that it does not work with all the link compatible games. Sure it works with Metroid Prime and Zelda. However with animal crosing you cannot download information from your GBA after playing with it, makes it kinda pointless.Don`t waste your money, but the nintendo cable which does work instead.
Essential if you have a GBA and Zelda The Wind Waker November 7, 2003 Justin Howard (Cambridge) 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
Simply put, you'd be a fool not to buy this cable if you own a GBA and Zelda The Wind Waker. A whole interactive hint and task/puzzle system is accessible through the GBA while playing on the GameCube. For a lot of things in Zelda the GBA acts like a sort of GPS showing you map information and allowing you to locate specific areas that you need to navigate to. The single more important advantage about this cable compared to the Nintendo one is that you can charge a GBA SP while linked to the GameCube. That's an even more important point than price, as ideally the GBA needs to be turned-on for the duration of the game. The same is true of other upcoming titles such as Square-Enix's Crystal Chronicals, where in multiplayer mode you need a collection of GBA's continually connected to the GameCube. The official cable from Nintendo has an unnecessary locking mechanism for the cable the width of the GBA (hence covers the charging connector).
