Amazon.co.uk Review
The original Halo was one of that rare breed of games that was so compelling it persuaded millions of people to go out and buy a new console just to play it. Without Halo the Xbox would probably have failed instantly, which gives this long awaited sequel an incredible amount to live up to. So far relatively little has been seen of the game but what has been revealed seems to surpass the original with startling ease.

Widely regarded as the best first-person shoot-'em-up ever made for a home console, Halo 2 follows in its forebear's footsteps with a perfect blend of single and multiplayer action. The former offers far more variety than the first game as the battle is brought to Earth and the incredible advances in the game's AI, as well as just its graphics, become immediately obvious. There are now a lot more friendly troops to help you out and the evil Covenant invaders have become even more organised and intelligent.

In the all-important multiplayer mode, the most significant change is that you can now play the game online on Xbox Live against anyone in the world. This is the feature fans have been clamouring for and it's supplemented by new gameplay features such as the ability to steal vehicles, man fixed gun emplacements and play as the bad guys. If you don't yet own an Xbox, Halo 2 is all the reason you need to change that.--David Jenkins

In this review I am going to tell you about an Xbox/Pc game called Halo 2. Halo 2 is an exclusive Xbox and pc game not available on any other game consoles. Halo 2 is a game where you are Humans fighting for survival against aliens and parasites. Halo 2 has been rated the best Xbox game for 3 years straight and has one numerous awards. People enjoy this game because it has extremely good graphics and has a very enjoyable storyline also people like this game because it is very interactive and you can play for hours. I like this game because I have played Halo 1 and 2 and the storyline links together to make it more fun and interesting. Another reason why I like this game is because of the graphics, the graphics on Halo 2 are the best from when it was made so you can see nearly perfect detail of everything. In my opinion Halo 2 is one of the best games around. I recommend everyone to buy it.

5 out of 5 stars How do you follow up perfection   January 7, 2008

With a great sequel of course. This game continues the storyline from the first game and expands on it. It is very enjoyable to play single player and multiplayer. This became one of the greatest online multiplayer games of all time not as advanced in tech or graphics as halo 3 but still a good middle game for the trilogy.
The problems with middle games in a trilogy is that they neither start or finish an ongoing storyline so it can't be better than the 1st or 3rd games. BuT if you have any of the halo games you need this game.

To be honest when i first played halo 1 i thought it was the one of the best shooters in the world ,I loved everything from the massive worlds, big guns and smart AI of the covenant to the detailed lush graphics that made X-box such a hit!. Then Halo 2 came and I was happy hearing it was coming out. When I seen the E3 trailer I was blown away ....but when i played Halo 2 I was quite displeased , the game world wasn't massive as Halo 1 was, the new battle rifle wasn't great to use , i can't say much for multi-player because I don't have X-box Live but the biggest letdown was the Arbitor , using him for the first time i thought you could finally fight some marines but no you still fight Covenant and flood and his missions were not fun to play , Master chief's missions were just as bad too. what I seen in the E3 trailer , none of that happens in the Full game !! so now that is what I think of Halo 2 , I cant say the halo series is ''best gaming series ever'' because they are not perfect . In my opinion the Final Fantasy series are the best games in the universe. Buy Halo 2 and you will be disapointed.PERIOD !!!!!

4 out of 5 stars From a Non-Xbox live point of view   September 23, 2007

Having various problems with computer equipment and being quite IT alliterate. I haven't tried Halo or any other game on Xbox live which is apparently the best part of the game so all I can review in particular is the campaign mode.

There is a story to the campaign mode and although it may seem a little dry and boring it does have some interest to it. The missions all have the basic aspects of all shoot em ups which is just to shoot the hell out of anything that shoots back. And sometimes the missions can feel a bit too overextended and boring if overdone. Some though which are at the right length and filled with action are very satisfying.

The shooting gameplay is very basic. Microsoft were probably looking for something that was basic yet addictive at the same time and although it's not like tetris addictive it will grow on you. The weapons are very basic ranging from futuristic handguns to rocket launcher which are very um...futuristic.

OK it doesn't seem like a revolutionary game at first site, but if you just let your guard down and become Mr. Green Helmet. You could love this game.
