Amazon.co.uk Review Rallisport Challenge 2 picks up from where Microsoft's original rally driving sim left off: it's an improvement on its predecessor in every sense. The key to this game's success lies in its diversity. Few racing titles offer as broad a selection of gameplay styles, and even fewer carry them off with such aplomb. Here, straight rally driving lines up alongside rally cross, circuit racing, hill climbing, and even ice racing. Each discipline is unique in its style and feel. All of which serves to provide the player with a huge range of modes to play through--longevity is not an issue. Rallisport Challenge 2 is one of the most comprehensive multi-player Xbox titles. Four payers can race on one system; with more consoles and monitors, up to 16 players can engage in link-up races; and furthermore, the game is designed for multi-player competition on Microsoft's Xbox Live network. Crucially, this impressive set of options is built on a solid foundation: cars handle perfectly as they speed through gorgeous environments. With real cars, and tracks set in every corner of the globe, Rallisport Challenge 2 is quite a treat for petrolheads. --Jonti Davies

A fantastic cure for racing fever. December 13, 2005 M. Kenny (Manchester, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I simply had to write a review of this game as it is quite simply perfect. As im sure your aware this game came out some time ago and it's graphics still put pretty much every racing game to shame. I dont know about you but one thing which really bugs me with most racing games is while the graphics on the car's body are fantastic the wheels are pretty much every time 2D looking whereas in rsc2 there so 3D it adds immensely to the feel of the game, this may sound odd but it has to be seen to be believed. On a slightly more sane note the amount of tracks is superb and for a change the makers have injected some much needed glamour into this racing game with fantastic locations like monte-carlo, the most classic of all rally events ignored by almost every racing game to date.....untill now......buy this game!
Great driving game! July 27, 2005 DVD Fan (london, United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love a good driving game, and this is excellent. Quite an old game now but still fairs better than many today. The graphics are excellent some of the most realistic scenery I have seen in a game, from Australia outback to leafy England. The cars look great, and weather conditions unbeliveable from fog, downpour to blizzard and great sense of speed as well. Go too fast and the car starts to look a bit out of shape and ready for the scrap heap, doors, boot, bonnet, wheels can all come off, glass smashes and you can lose the headlights too, not good on a night race stage when you can barley see the next turn! lol This is a fun racer and feels arcadey rather than a simulation. You can have up to 4 players split screen or system link to 16. The game is also playable on xbox live. There are 5 modes of racing rallycross, short circuit doing a few laps. Crossover against other car on same circuit you finish where they started etc. Rally normal check point racing for quickest time. Hillclimb racing up and down mountain stages. Iceracing similar to rally cross but on ice. You have the usual time attack, career and race mode for all stages. With a total of around 40 rally cars all with 4 colour combos to unlock there is plenty to do.You have to play it ,the feeling of racing at 150mph at twilight with beautiful scenery flashing past and the rumble of the control pad as you edge just off the road into the dirt fighting for control of the car is great fun!!
The best rally on xbox November 22, 2004 Roy Smith (Woodchurch Kent) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game is way better than Colin McRae 2005 for one big reason - The thrill of driving at speed is HUGE!!Because the graphics are superb. They roll without flicker and at such speed and detail that this is one of those rare games where you truly forget where you are - you are utterly immersed in a rally driving experience. True the graphics in between stages aren't as flashy as Colin Mcrae, and there's no poncing around to be done repairing your car at service areas - but SO WHAT. Are you here for the racing or what?? And yes the replays are a waste of space too but SO WHAT, man. Get in the car and tear it up! The light effects through trees and over brows and in dusk are incredibly realistic. When the surface changes (even leaves) you real do feel the car handling differently. It doesn't need a stupid rumble in the joypad to tell you this. Add to this so much more variety than McR with rallycross stages where you race against other vehicles, time trials and hill climbs where you have to make do without the co-driver you've come to love, and so many different vehicles and unlocks for specific races, this one has comeback appeal too. It's just class.
Rallisport Challenge Roolz. June 12, 2004 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The first thing you notice when you boot up Rallisport Challenge 2 will be the superb graphics. They shade past the graphic quality of PGR2 and other racing games around at the moment. The handling of the cars and everything else about the physics and crashes in the game are excellent, and really allow for you to get engrossed in the game. In single player, you will find much to do; however these are quite easy, and thus the game won't last too long in single player, but it is multiplayer and on XBOX Live where the game comes into its own right. On XBOX Live there is a fairly decent opti match system and the experience is virtually lag free. You can play against 16 other players, which really is superb. Expect a more arcadey experience next to Project Gotham, and this makes the game much easier to pick up. Overall its a very decent game, and worth picking up.
Fact... June 4, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Rallisport 2 is brilliant. I consider myself quite experienced with the racing genre, having played them since lotus challenge on the amiga to the gran turismos and the toca race drivers of today. I don't normally comment on games I've bought however rallisport 2 deserves a mention. FACT - the most important aspect I feel required in a racing game is the sense of speed you get when on the wheel. Rallisport 2 delivers this without a shadow of a doubt especially when you play in the no-car-model camera view. The cars handle nicely with a good learning curve and there are tons of tracks to keep you busy for years on end. This is a must purchase for driving fans.
