Nothing like running around in the dark battling satanic powers!!! October 20, 2007 N. Carter (London) Survival horror with action. Picture walking on a blood stained floor, three bullets in the handgun, you must leave the comfortable station room and get to the otherside and lock that wide open door, you leave getting closer to that gapping void beyond the door, then... groaning noises and a foot scrapping closer, you can see an outline, taking careful aim... then out with the lights and deafening laughter, the room is now lit soley in satanic fiery glowing symbols and centre stage a porthole with intruders from another demension! and great game to play in the dark! I just really liked this game so much. I can't say enough gud things about it, great great great!. The most terrifying version of hell I got to witness!!! Buy the board game aswell :D

This is the Collectors Edition and this is a fab Game lets talk about what you get in this Package eh? Well this Package comes with the Extras Section in the Extras is the Behind the Scenes talk on Doom 3 and more Scenes about Doom it also Includes Doom 1 & 2 Doom 1 & 2: Sadly with these Games the Graphics weren't made to the Xbox Standards and they look exactly what they did back when they got there Release (So to many if you haven't already played Doom 1 & 2 you'd probably be unsatisfied with it as it looks old and compared to the New Games standard you wouldn't be Interested however take a deep Breath and remember it's what Doom looked like back in the Day it's what made Doom what it is today so put the thoughts that say ''It's too old why bother'' behind you and enjoy the 2 Games maybe ID could of Improved a bit on the Graphics like Capcom did with Resident Evil 1 on NGC but just screw those thoughts and enjoy it for what it is) and the Story remains the same as well as the Music, Mobs, Weapons and Maps Levels I hadn't played Doom 1 and 2 before and it's a bit like Blake Stone if anyone has played that before in Doom 1 which is almost exactly the same as Doom 2 but there is some differences of course that being the levels are different and in Doom 1 you can pick any level you want for example you dont have to play level 1 and all the way to the final level but in Doom 2 you dont have that kind of level feature sadly and that's the Extras part the Game also Includes Doom 3 of course why else would it be called Doom 3 ''Collectors Edition'' Doom 3: This Game is totally Awesome I love it the Graphics are really cool and the Music really goes with the Atmosphere the scary things are that sometimes you can hear Whispering and thing is there is nothing there The Gore is quite good and well this Game is a total must BUY You play as a Recruit that has just joined the Mars Team and without Warning you are trapped in a Ship with Creatures lurking around The Story is that the Mars Scientists are Experimenting when they shouldn't be and thats when these Creatures come and attack This Game is a bit like ''Half-Life and Halo'' but better if you ask me It's a total MUST BUY trust me I loved it enough to Buy the Normal Non-Collectors Edition and this 1 but I bought the Normal one first :D (Sorry about my lack of Punctuation my English is Appauling Hope you do Buy This Game if you dont already have it and Enjoy it)
oh my god.... July 15, 2005 mark davenport 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game is the game to end all horror games...the graphics brought water to my eyes.they are AMAZING!!the sound effects are superb. And another good thing is that it has doom and doom 2 stored into it which is an added bonus for you doom fans. The replay value for this game is immense.i have completed this game twice but it still makes me jump when you shine your torch on enemies that are about 30 cm's away from you. The best thing to do is turn the lights down.close all the doors.close curtains.turn up sound 100% and let the action commense.
Doom Is Back April 19, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This game is great! I liked the previous doom games but i was never a huge fanatic, but this game blows you away. The graphics for the xbox are stunning, the sound is spot on, the gore is set on high and if your into your barbie games like the other reviewers that complain its too dark then this game isnt for you!You take control of a marine stranded in a base on mars. Your first job is to investigate a scientist that has hidden away from the rest of the team but when you get there a gateway to hell has just been opened up and everyone bar a few people have turned into zombie mutated freaks hell bent on killing you. Starting with a flashlight and a pistol its your job to blow these monsters away and survive to find out what had happened. There are weapons aplenty ranging from the chainsaws which you can hear ripping apart bones to the plasma guns which will quickly get rid of those unwanted monsters in a flash. Talking of monsters, there a few familiar faces there from doom 1 and 2 but this time they are even more harder to kill and even more scary. You also start with a pda and you can find other peoples that will upgrade your security clearance to open doors and such. I like the pda as it gives you a welcome breather from the madness that is doom3 but what i didnt like was the system behind it that meant that the game is very much straight forward and you cant really get lost anywhere. Overall the game is very slick, the gameplay is frantic and the graphics are lovely. There are a few little touches that makes this game stand out above a lot of other fps' (like when you blow a monster away with a shotgun, you can see the blood splatters on the wall where you killed him). The only disappoinments for me where that there is no splitscreen coop mode apart from on xbox live which i have played and it is really good but having to play over live takes away part of the fun. The other xbox live options arent really that good but if you were into quake online and such, im sure you'll get more enjoyment out of it than i did. The interviews and game pieces about doom3 are interesting but they dont last long and you wouldnt really watch them more than once. Doom1 and Doom2 are also included on the limited edition and they are fantastic, over 30 levels for both of them and with the addition of playing multiplayer coop and deathmatch on them they are well worth the extra tenner alone. Its retro come back to haunt you!
